GC friendly social media platforms

I'm curious what are some of the best gender critical friendly social media platforms out there? I know we have mumnets but not 100% sure it's for me (I'm not a mum, not a feminist and don't live in the UK). Previously been permanently banned from Reddit for my GC views so assume that is off the table haha.

Why aren't you a feminist? Does a GC non-feminist believe that female people have an inescapable biological imperative to be subjugated and exist only for the benefit and pleasure of men?

You don't have to be a mum, a feminist or live in the UK to use Mumsnet. But if it's not for you, then fair enough.

I'm not aware of anywhere else that "allows" women to freely discuss the issues that are addressed on here.

X would be my suggestion. The algorithm will keep feeding you what you want to see

UnaPersson · Today 11:25

I've seen a few gender critical posts popping up on Reddit lately, although it's predominantly pro TRA.

I came to MN because I'd heard it was GC, although I'm a mum to a 31 y.o. who's long left home.

JanesLittleGirl · Today 11:37

Hi @PeachyDaisy. Please could you explain what you mean by GC? I struggle to understand how any woman can be GC without being a feminist.

Catsanfan · Today 11:44

If you follow the right people on X there are loads of GC accounts

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · Today 12:05

Plenty of posters here aren't mums, and although it's weighted towards the UK there's decent representation from other places.

What is your understanding of what feminist means, and why do you disagree? What is your understanding of 'GC' in a non-feminist context? Do you perhaps mean sex realist rather than gender critical? Knowing these things might narrow down suitable sites.

Actually, I take this back. They deleted their Gender Critical subreddit but all the misogynistic stuff is still on there.

Yes, few subreddits have mods who will let even mild GC posts stand. Blocked and Reported podcast has a good one, quite focused on the US but they do cover other countries too.

PeachyDaisy · Today 15:24

I'm gender critical because I believe a women refers to biological sex and that men (and women) are both entitled to single sex spaces on the basis of biology. Also don't believe it is possible to change sex.
Unfortunately saying that got me permanently banned from reddit so can't post there again even if I found a reasonable sub.

That is such a shame. All these TRAs claim they support free speech but try to ban us wherever we go. Complete hyocrites.

X if you follow the right people.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · Today 15:31

X can be good, but man it’s eye opening. Genuinely disgusting racism. Not micro aggressions, not discussions about CRT, but full on abusive bigoted stuff.

I don’t know whether blocking each of those accounts as you see them helps the algorithm recover some sense of decency!

May I ask why you aren’t a feminist? I think there are quite a few different understandings of feminism. This is a space you can speak freely, and people will disagree with you robustly.

I find the diversity refreshing, as we generally cluster inadvertently with ‘people like us’.

PeachyDaisy · Today 15:39

I have probably have different politics to most people on here (I'm right-wing and don't support a lot of things feminists push for like women only shortlists/quotas)

OP posts:
PrizedPickledPopcorn · Today 15:49

That’s ok. Loads of people here don’t.
To be honest, I don’t think there’s a single thing here we all agree on. People will point out what they see as errors in your thinking. You just argue politely back or not, as suits you best.

There are a few axes of difference that we all manage to live with. Left/Right is just one, and it’s obvious that the words don’t mean what they used to! Being called right wing now, may just mean that you don’t think women should have to wear burka, and don’t think Israel should be razed to the ground. Honestly politics has got very weird.

If you centre women, you’re a feminist. And you don’t have to be a feminist to use MN anyway!

What makes you think feminists push women only shortlists or quotas?
