Russell T Davies says I called him "a paedophile and a groomer" in this. It's a lie. I did call him a groomer, because he used Doctor Who to push gender ideology, in which no child would believe unless an adult had planted it in his or her head.

And I just find it disingenuous from him. It's no secret I don't love his decent into more, let's call it, aggressive strategies on social media, but they are now coming home to roost and won't be good for any of us.

The word Groomer has a very specific history when it comes to CSA so to use it as often as he (and other) do and then claim you don't mean it in the very well accepted way is always meant just doesn't sit right with me.

Is there a term we can use that isn't sp precariously close to slandering someone as a Child sex abuser?

Grooming though, is not just about sexual abuse.

Well you cared to clink on any of the links you will see it was all posted just today. So not an old story and I think I made my intention quite clear, that the use of the word Groomer is harming the GC cause and whether we like it or not Linehan is a very public face of it so him calling/implying people are paedophiles is wrong.

The only ppl I've seen use the R slur are Americans/ ppl residing in America where shamefully they've used it as a slur for years

I actually agree with that re-write of my post. Words have meaning and we can't claim the word Woman needs to be respected and then be so lax with others.

RTD is a man with a powerful platform available to him, that allows him to pursue his activism on an international scale - the viewership of his work.

A large part of this viewership is young people and he is actively promoting an anti-scientific, misogynistic, harmful ideology that promotes self hatred, mental confusion, family estrangement and lifelong physical damage.

What word would you like to use for that?

Grooming really isn’t just about sexual abuse though. You can groom people for success, you can groom them to follow in your footsteps in a job role or groom them to have far right opinions, for example. It’s a perfectly acceptable word to use.

Do you ‘call them out’? Because all the threads you start seem to be about your ‘concern’ about what a couple of high profile ‘GC’ people tweet.

I don't think we need purity of thought, I think we can be a broad church all generally working towards the same aim - that of supporting children and young adults to wear what they like, present how they like - but not damage their bodies for a sexist ideology that aims to make them lifelong patients.

To think the fight is over or our victory assured is in my view, naive. High profile GC people are the face of this fight and tweeting is very often their chosen battle ground so what they say should concern all of us.
