Thanks for the link Op. Stephen Nolan doing his usual hand-wringing whycan’tyoujustbekind schtick.

Wasn't Nolan solid at the time of the Tavistock scandal reveal and resultant Cass Review?
Or is he another one who literally hasn't got the backbone for proper journalism, he can be performatively angry when there's a medical scandal in front of him, but reverts to being a jellyfish when the trans story is purely a societal one/"c'mon ladies, move over for the sad individuals who just want a chance in life".

Thanks OP. I ❤️ Fiona. She is so good at these counter arguments with those that are so determined to prove we are being unreasonable and THEY cant understand why its a problem that woman “just wont let boys and men DO WHAT THEY want “.

I found that the male panelist, Dr Laura, just followed the usual script.

No complaints (not true, I can think of at least on which was Sully).

Only a few - so let them in (irrelevant how many)

Tried the ‘not criminal law!’ (Sound familiar? But still irrelevant as SM have not said it was criminal)

and more ‘what’s the harm…’

Fiona was spot on to call him out for trying to wheedle boys into GG. She was very clear that this was seeking to push past female people’s needs.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 07/09/2026 21:32

It was very telling that they could only find an American man with zero knowledge of the GG to whine about males being excluded.
Fiona was very good and I thought that Stephen Nolan allowed plenty of time for both to speak.

I thought Stephen Nolan did a good job of presenting the opposite argument so Fiona M could counter it. He can stand up either side of an argument and that is a strength. I’ve listened to the whole of Nolan Investigates Stonewall on R4, and it’s clear he is well-informed.

Fiona McAnena did a fantastic job of exposing the slippery arguments of Dr Laura.

Well done Fiona - good to see this getting more air time especially in NI.

She was really clear and Nolan was just wheedling at times. But yes he has been better than most on this issue.

Interesting thing which isn’t discussed - in NI equivalent of EHRC, the ECNI is saying they don’t know what man and woman means in law here. So I wonder if Girl Guides are actually removing all boys in NI too? Excellent if so but surely something Nolan should have been aware of….
