Interesting to see the BBC point out that large doses can cause baldness while failing to mention incontinence and orgasm disorder and all the other horrible side effects that transmen often suffer from.

'Olver, a consultant in sexual and reproductive health, said it was "incredibly sad" to see women lying to get hold of the drug online, because they were being "denied access to something they need", but urged proper counselling and monitoring was needed.
"We want to maintain women in female physiological range for testosterone. We don't want them to have sky-high levels," she said.
"When you persistently have very high testosterone levels you can get undesirable permanent side effects.
"Nobody wants to have baldness, deepening of the voice or enlargement of the clitoris."'

I mean, the NHS is deliberately dosing young women to achieve exactly those effects.

I considered it tbh! When you read about people being handed hormones without so much as MH assessment for claiming a trans identity, while women struggle to get even the most basic of HRT, you say whatever gets you what you need.

I had to claim that I had decreased libido to be able to access testosterone as part of my HRT, but tbh the libido was ok, it was just so unsatisfying when we did it! My clit has shrunk to nothing, orgasms are pitiful and it’s so frustrating because I really still WANT to do it, but it’s just not the same anymore. As they’re only allowed to prescribe it for low libido I played their game and had the best orgasm for many years shortly afterwards!

I don’t blame any woman for lying in order to get a medication that has been shown to be effective in later life as our own natural supplies of it dwindle.

Wait.... ONE woman pretended to be a man but only because of the pink tax (£100 vs £30 for men) ?? When did the singular morph into the plural?

she filled in a questionnaire for an online pharmacy pretending to be a man to get the hormone for a fraction of the cost.

"Nobody wants to have baldness, deepening of the voice or enlargement of the clitoris."'

and I was told by the prescribing practitioner that it wouldn’t help my clitoris to enlarge again, but here we are and it’s actually more like it’s old self again. Maybe they all need to get on the same page with their info too?!

It is indeed a Pink tax! Given that we’re supplied with a sachet intended for men and told to split the dose 8 ways, why would you spend more on a smaller amount, when you can do exactly what the NHS tells us to do?

TBH the article reads like an advertorial for HRT to me.
