There are so many threads this could be added to that in the end thought I would start a new thread so everyone can have a read.

Having a council that respects the Equality Act and provides single-sex services shouldn’t be a postcode lottery. And people who have paid into their union for years shouldn’t face discrimination.

I’m trying to figure out how I can raise the issue of women’s rights and issues within the NEU. Just don’t know where to start. It seems a pretty dangerous parapet to raise my head over.

Well you can say whatever it is you feel necessary, if they discriminate or harass you, just join another union.

And while you are at it employ a solicitor and apply to the JKR fund to sue the arse of them.

I wish i was in a position to challenge a union for sure i would do it. but i am retired now.

Makes me wonder if we should have a SEEN in unions or some other such organisation of sex realists, you should not be on your own.

You could start a thread here and see if anyone else in the NEU has ideas.

As only users names should make it easier to share concerns and ideas - maybe?

I wasn’t surprised when my now Green council announced they would not be following the law as they were such virtuous, moral people who only need to follow laws they approve.

I’m hoping for the opportunity to ask them is OK for everyone to choose which law applies to them and are there mechanisms to prevent me having to pay for the inevitable fines via council tax.
