1/ Our position, in plain terms. A union exists to hold employers to the law when someone's pay, their shifts or their job is on the line. Not to write the law. Not to pick a side in your politics.

2/ Where the law is contested we apply it as it stands, including the Supreme Court's April 2025 ruling and the EHRC Code. Members pay us to be in the room when it goes wrong for them, not to lobby about it.

'National Employees Union was formed in September 2021 in response to Regulations requiring care workers and NHS staff to be vaccinated, in order to keep their jobs. Major trade unions had abandoned 40,000 care workers and 100,000 NHS staff.
We questioned the Regulations on the legal basis that they were beyond the powers of parliament, discriminatory, and a violation of fundamental human rights.
As a result we represented hundreds of healthcare professionals in formal meetings, before the Regulations were revoked on 15 March 2022.
Since then we have advised and represented members on a wide range of issues in almost every workplace sector in the UK, including: banking, construction, councils, fast food, government departments, healthcare, hospitality, mining, off-shore, retail, shipping, and teaching.'

Encouraging. I took a brief glance at their website, couldn't see any stats. Does anyone know how many members they have?

I might leave Prospect and go over to them. That said, Prospect have mostly been quite coy about this, but I think there have been signs they tend towards transactivism. I’d prefer to be with a union that I genuinely know would have my back if I came under attack at work, either because someone linked my Twitter to where I work (I’m not particularly anonymous, but tend to a avoid any direct links) or because of being part of SEEN.

I've got another union helping me with an employment matter at the moment otherwise I'd change over, but might do so at a later date.
