OK, so I saw this online and thought I would just try it to see if it did actually happen.

If you type in "I am alone with a Terf" then Google AI gives the following advice:

If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable being alone with someone whose views are hostile to trans people, your best option is to change the subject, excuse yourself, or leave the area immediately to protect your own well-being.

How to Stay Safe

  • Keep calm and speak in a low voice.
  • Do not try to change their mind.
  • Step away or leave the room if you feel tense.
  • Text a friend or family member to let them know where you are.

What to Do Next

  • Focus on your own peace of mind.
  • Talk to people who support and care for you.
  • Avoid spending time with people who bring you down or make you feel unsafe.

This video discusses how people who hold exclusionary views can isolate themselves and why it is healthy to step away from toxic dynamics

.

In contrast, if you type in "I am alone with a transwoman", the advice given is:

Being alone with a transgender woman is simply being in the company of another person. Treat her with basic human respect, listen to her if she speaks, and act normally just as you would with anyone else.

Understanding and Connection

  • Treat her with respect: Use her correct name and pronouns.
  • Keep it normal: No special rules apply simply because someone is trans.
  • Listen and learn: If you talk, let her guide any conversation about her personal life.
Watch this video to see a couple discuss building a respectful and loving relationship involving a trans woman:

.

This really does make me stop and reconsider what I read on Google.

Also, just going off-topic, Google AI does also have similar different sorts of advice when asked about being alone with a Christian and with a Muslim.

@SingleSexSpacesInSchools you need to look up George Haigh, also known as the Acid bath murderer, he was way ahead of you. You might like to note that he still didn't get away with it so I'd give it a miss if I were you 😀

Doesn’t sound like the sort of thing I’d like to look up thanks!

The same Grok that is being sued for making disgusting deepfakes of children?

No. That’s a miss understanding of what actually happened and a predictable attack on musk when actually the real problem is smaller non commercial open source stuff which does the very worst of AI deepfake porn.

And then tell you how clever you are and how right you are when you "correct it". It doesn't mean you are actually doing something useful or changing a real mind.

Yes. No.

a much larger amount of maybe.

things are not what you think they are and at the same time it’s not a person, it can’t learn and it’s not the new Industrial Revolution.

but. It can be and is transformational in some few areas of the world - mainly coding

Stay calm, steer the conversation to a neutral topic, and leave the area immediately if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

How to Handle the SituationStay calm: A gender-critical view is a philosophical belief, but you do not have to agree with it or argue about it.

Change the subject: Move the conversation away from politics, sex, or identity by talking about food, work, or the weather.

Set a boundary: Say politely and firmly, "I would rather not talk about this right now."Exit the room: If the person becomes hostile or you feel uneasy, make an excuse to step outside, use your phone, or leave.

If you are in danger or feel physically threatened right now, call emergency services (999 in the UK) or move to a public place immediately. Would you like help figuring out a safe way to leave or contact someone?

Wow.

To be fair, I then told it.I am also gender, critical and believe sex.And gender are immutable - to which it responded with a load of different topics about it and different viewpoints and sounded actually quite neutral.

It is indeed "much more complicated" than the unbelievers like me think. I've heard that before but I can't think where...

I agree it is useful for writing code and writing code quickly. Contrary to what people think though writing code isn't the difficult bit of most software engineers jobs. So used correctly it is a useful tool to speed up the most mundane parts of people's jobs for people who alreyknow their jobs well. It has been massively over hyped though.

I'm not sure how AIs ability to code fits with it's reasoning abilities re transwomen, and with the need to "teach" it to talk to you in a particular way. As you say it can't learn. You aren't changing it's mind in the way you would possibly change a persona mind by reasoning with them, asking them questions etc. so I would question the purpose of putting that much effort in. But it's your life.

Ask it if you should offer them a Tunnocks teacake....

No but it's the time consuming part, so is the testing and the bug fixing. That's the bit thats been automated, not the thinking. Thats why it's genuinely revolutionary in that field, but not really very many others.

The biggest issue is, I think, the upcoming economic collapse as so very many funds have put money into this and it is not profitable, not at all.

"Because some of us suffer the flames so others don’t have to"

This is GOLD.
