Letter in my local paper, my response

Sorry this post is a bit clunky with photos instead of links. The Camden New Journal is my local paper, quite left wing, often good local investigative reporting but does tend towards TRA support now and then. First, here is the letter printed last week

My second post is three more photos (sorry!) of the letter I sent them today for inclusion in this week’s issue. I highly doubt they will print it, and they may have received other, better submissions. But I thought I’d like to share with my peers here and ask for any comments

Thanks @Helleofabore. I know you know what you’re talking about, I hope my effort isn’t too shiteBlush

Your letter is great, I hope they print it so their readers get to see a different view

Very good letter, well done. I really hope that they print it.

I’m so pleased to see these responses, I was thinking that, even if it could be a lot better, at least I sent something. I sent it first to the leader of the council, copying my (female) MP. I tried to somewhat mirror the original letter. I think there’s very little chance of it being printed and, if it is, I asked them not to print my name and address. I hate having to do that

Bravo!

I certain there shall be other women thinking the same and support you. I have honestly wondered if the councils continue to do this. Then females in these councils need to start refusing to pay their council tax. They are not providing local services for females, therefore why should they contribute to services that discriminate against them.

Good stuff 👏

Great letter, lets hope the paper believes in a free press and doesn't see them as just a platform for political propaganda. A paper which prints both sides of a story and doesn't confuse a political narrative as the only factual side to be printed. 👍

Thanks everyone. It’s quite likely there will have been other (better) letters sent in which they may, or may not, print. We’ve got the persistent issue of the Hampstead Ponds locally and we’ve got quite a strong WRN. I will keep you posted, likely to be a damp squib
