Well, that's a problem, isn't it? Because Cass has given ultimate cover to those proposing and supporting the trial.
"...if Professor Cass says it's ok, then it's ok by me".

This is my frustration.Easy way to duck out of any questions.

It is where the Cass report was not as helpful as it should have been - where it pulled back and allowed some loopholes...

I think we also need to recognise that general awareness of the whole 'trans-context' has changed since that report was published - every day new things are being unveiled, new awareness occurring etc. so how we perceive the Cass report now is different from then - at the time it was more a case of 'some common sense being spoken' whereas now we take that more for granted but are looking for and expecting commentators to go further in pushing back on the tidal wave of insanity that is out there...

to a lot of people the idea of a formalised, scientific, medically managed trial is a much better way forward than the dis-regulated mess that existed previously - it is simply that we have moved on and realise that we know the answers ahead of such a trial, and therefore we should not be putting any young people into a place of abuse / damage...

I am pretty sure that we will look back at this as one of our worst period of child abuse.

Akkakk I have emailed back stating exactly what you are saying.
I just can't believe people are so willing to sacrifice children,it's barbaric.

These children have been sacrificed on the altar of trans ideology from the outset. Targeted, gaslit and groomed into believing that sex change is possible, that their uncomfortable developing bodies can be fixed with drugs and crude surgery - and of course that any deviance from these views is right wing fascist bigotry.

It's despairing but we have to hang on to the knowledge that those pushing this for their own ends are being named and shamed and some of them will eventually be held to account as the carnage happening to the young is exposed.
Not much comfort I know but the days of #nodebate are over so there is some accountability. Sigh....

Thanks I just can't understand how we even allowed it to happen in the first place.
Yes,hopefully it won't take much longer till this horrible practice is just stopped for good.

This is what I sent.He seems quite measured and reasonable in his response, but sounds like he's spouting the party line? I'm not very knowledgeable on this but hopefully things will change soon.

Well done for responding to him. MPs need to know that the majority of the population are horrified at children being experimented on in this way, even if their mates are telling them all is ok.

Thanks I will keep doing what I can,and I will keep reading these threads because it's so important.

What about asking him to set aside some time to listens to some of the voices of concern about this. He could listen to Julie in Genderland podcast or get in touch with Dr Louise Irvine. This is such a big topic he needs to spend time with a range of views.

What about having a look at the Transgender Trend website.

Puberty Blockers used at the time a child is meant to go through puberty is a very serious medical intervention. The drugs are changing the development of their brains and bones. Has he really thought properly about what this means for a developing body?

Good on you for writing to him about this! We need more people to do that.

That's a shock, given MPs are dealing with actual issues. Cost of living emergency, lack of rape justice, the prisons crisis, SEND provision, support for carers, the housing crisis? Ring any bells? It's what normal people spend their lives worrying about.

Cranks writing to him about medical trials they have absolutely no expertise in aren't exactly going to be top of the to-do list.

Hmm. Seemingly safeguarding vulnerable children isn't your thing judging by these comments?

Fortunately the UK is peopled with adults with empathy and insight who understand that children shouldn't be experimented on with dangerous drugs leading to potential body and brain impairment and loss of fertility. Which is why they write to MPs to raise their concerns and this MP took the trouble to respond - even though the OP was disappointed with his response.

That's the beauty of living in a democratic society where free speech is still allowed and those who bawl #nodebate are regarded as dangerous cranks (using your terminology). 😄

So you are not bothered by what history will look back on as the biggest state sponsored child abuse scandal we have known?

says quite a bit...
