On the face of it, who doesn't want venues to treat trans people - or indeed anyone - with respect and dignity? No problem with that.

But it would seem from the 'advice' pages that this might be places that are willing to turn a blind eye to people breaking the law, or even be happy to quietly break the law themselves.

Handily, there's a map of all the places signed up to this. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

When I was at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, they had a sign up telling patrons to use the toilets where they felt most comfortable. Not surprising, given that Cummings is in charge.

"Nobody should have to plan their night out around which toilets they can safely use".

Couldn't agree more!

Yes me too, I should be able to trust that there'll be a female toilet for females, as per the law.

Well it's one way of knowing which pubs etc to avoid I suppose, go and spent ypur money elsewhere

Surely if these venues are publicly announcing their intention to not comply with the law, their businesses should be prosecuted?

It's all been worded quite vaguely about 'treating people with respect and dignity' and no-one's going to come out and state - publicly and in writing - that they're going to ignore the law. And also the venues themselves might have thought "Sure, we'll sign up to treat people decently" not realising quite how this might be interpreted.

But given Sparkles' interview with the Daily Record about using as many women's loos as possible on Wednesday, I wonder how many of these places he'll be frequenting.
