One man died after a vessel capsized off France's northern coast late on Wednesday, local officials said, with a one-year-old child among those hurt.

Seven hours later, three people were found dead aboard a small boat after launching from Dunkirk overnight, some 100km (62 miles) up the coast.

How strange it was only women on this one boat who died from "heart attacks". What are the odds? I highly doubt that's what actually happened to these women.

And then we are surprised at all the increases of VAWG near where they are housed in the UK.

But you’re shouted down when you say that because you’re a racist bigot 🙄

Heart attacks? I cannot believe that. Heart attacks are not all that common, and for three women in one boat to die of them stretches credibility.

this is awful-those women were most likely raped then killed-it's happened before. I wish our country would stop making itself seem so welcoming to men from cultures so different to our own

Doesn't it.

It’s nice that the BBC could say that a man died, and three other “people” on a boat as well.

According to a refugee charity, French riot police were at the beach from 0400hrs, trying to prevent people from boarding the boat by spraying them with tear gas. The boat was offshore by 0600, and a search and rescue vessel noted the victims (dead or possibly unconscious) by 0630. So either they suffered respiratory failure due to the tear gas, or they were killed by other passengers in the boat during boarding or between 0600 and 0630. I suppose it's also possible they suffered crush injuries or suffocation in the chaotic situation. They were ~ 20, 30 and 50.

I know it's been reported that there is VAWG in spaces where asylum seekers are housed. I can't find any substantiated links that suggest there has been an increase in VAWG around the area where they're housed.
