Here's a blow-by-blow first-person account of what it is like to have the new sports sex test that is being decried as invasive and dehumanising and (in a rather extravagant bending of the facts) a genital inspection etc.

After such a big build-up, prepare to be.... underwhelmed. But please do stop scrolling now if you don't want to read the distressing details:

"I open my mouth and feel the swab brushing the inside of my cheeks for about 20 seconds. The practitioner carefully places the sample in a small plastic bag and then pops it into a sealed envelope. I sign the back of it."

You can link the objections you found especially convincing, no?

Not worth staying awake for methinks. Maybe the transatlantic FWR shift will probe further.

Nope. I don’t believe I am smarter than anyone else.

and there is that emotional manipulation again.

Competitive sports is about performance and fairness. You can emote all you like but you won’t change that at the end of the day, if you are supporting female athletes being harmed through injury or loss of opportunity, you are not being ‘inclusive’ or kind.

If you have to resort to insults and emotional reasoning, then I don’t agree that you have been challenged as you say you have. You haven’t got answers for very common and very important questions.

And no, I don’t feel ‘ashamed’ about using accurate language and discussing facts. It is not kind to allow female people to be harmed in sport because someone else believes an emotional appeal over science. if you read the thread I posted, the papers are listed that convinced the OIC in the first place.

And it was purely emotional reasoning. All based on using emotionally acceptable language.

Nof one of them at the time actually stopped to consider female people’s needs. Apparently, they were celebrated as being ‘kind’.

I am a female athlete. An internationally competitive one. Are you?

Now please discuss each link with regard to the discussion about female sports categories.

Plopping down links that you think are relevant without discussion is just you using AI or someone else’s reference list thinking it is going to prove a point. it doesn’t show that you actually understand anything you just linked up.

A poster plopped down what looks like the reference list to an academic paper.

If they cannot discuss their links, they have not bothered to even read them. Why shouldn’t people ask questions about someone’s posts?

Exactly. You need to say why exactly they support your view, and back it up. AI can possibly do this for you if you ask it, it would be something!

I’m reminding you because youre implying I don’t care about female athletes and you’re acting like you speak on behalf of female athletes - well, you don’t speak for this one.

So? You can’t back up your non points, so they can be easily dismissed, can’t they 🤷‍♀️

Mmmnotsure · 28/07/2026 23:49

The thing is, @Deadlifter , it would be interesting to have some decent arguments put forward. I can't be the only one who is waiting for someone to really challenge my stance.

I'm not sure what the fact that you say you are a female internationally competitive athlete has to do with anything. We have seen time and time again women throw women under the bus for reasons.

One daughter competed internationally. My other daughter was also many times national champion. Different sports - but for both of them, if there had been any boy/man who cared to identify into their category, or anyone whose male DSD allowed him to make his way in, that would have been it: no titles, no national records, no national team, no international tours. They would have lost so much. That is a reason why I care so much about protecting the female category in sport and the women and girls who belong in it and have nowhere else to go. We should be kind to them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/07/2026 23:50

Just for the record, we’re all free to believe or disbelieve when posters give us personal backgrounds or anecdotes, and draw our own conclusions.

You are indeed free to believe what you like! And if you’d like to believe that any female athlete who doesn’t agree with you MUST be pretending then that’s up to you, but it’s a very transparent way of protecting yourself from considering any views that’s don’t align with your own.

She’s a woman, so yes she does have skin in the game of whether women get pushed out of the way by men.

Shall I remind you of the insults and emotional manipulation you have used on this thread just towards me?

I have just read back over the past pages, I think you are more concerned with being kind to a group of male people from reading your posts. And I don’t believe that you can evidence your position with anything but emotional reasoning, regardless of what you like to say you support.

It is actually irrelevant that you ‘have skin in the game’. It is absolutely fucking irrelevant if you cannot engage and discuss with evidence why a group of male people that have experienced any male pubertal advantages should be competing as a female person.

Emotional reasoning no longer convinces many people at all considering the evidence to support exclusion.

It’s not emotional manipulation to point out when people are being unkind. I can see it’s upset you to hear it though.

I don’t think you care about women’s sport. You absolutely have NOT engaged in anyway with the points I’ve raised about a lack of scientific consensus that this test CAN prove sex in any useful way. You have no real answer for how we can fairly include people with DSD in sports. You believe sex is an absolute binary and will continue to do so despite any evidence to the contrary. You think you’re opened minded and scientific but you’re not.

Mmmnotsure · 29/07/2026 00:08

@Helleofabore "Emotional reasoning no longer convinces many people at all"

That's been one of the most freeing elements of all of this. Women are told since they are little girls to be quiet, sit down, be nice, keep calm, look after, BE KIND, nurture, give way to. And then the demands become intolerable. And you say "no".

And men who seem pleased to think that they have made us upset or scared, don't realise that actually they have allowed us the freedom to be angry.

Indeed. It’s all just bluster. We don’t have to take it seriously.
