Interesting discussion on BBC R4 atm using gender ideology vs women’s rights as an example. The female discussant is brilliant. She’s not allowing any reframing of transgenderism as being a moderate position.

Yes she was clear there was no compromise available. The other party kept banging on about gay rights. A man of course.

That’s what I was thinking. From a bloody Labour think tank? I was so glad that she was having none of it. Mentioned politicians who spoke about growing a cervix etc. Now that some slight semblance of reality is beginning to emerge, Labour wants to pretend they were always ‘reasonable’.

The other person was Luke Tryl. Worked for Nicky Morgan. Not Labour.

Shame about Luke Tryl. I really like his take on polling etc.
But once again, another media ecosphere type tacking to the position showing no bravery or critical thinking.
Trylmis like "gays fought for their rights/LGB is now LGBTQ/ergo the fight for gay rights is the fight for trans rights".
Love Camilla, she shows absolute moral indignantion with all this, zero sum game is the corner that the trans lobby have pushed this.
15 years of no debate from their side is countered today by women's rights and trans rights are wholly incompatible.

So inane. No better argument.

Camilla Tominey is a Telegraph writer as well as being on GB News. Agree I’m quite surprised they let someone so forthright on this on Radio 4.

Farage gets plenty of airtime.

The balance brief due to being publicly funded means that the bbc HAVE to give a certain amount of air time to people representing views commonly held by the majority in different parties as well as a broad range of views on “divisive” subjects.

It will be interesting to see if Matt Britain at the helm will mean that a broader range of views are aired on many things. FWS will have had an impact too.

Hope that means more trans voices, too.

I would actually like to hear more from trans-identified females in the media. They get very little press time, because the men cause all the trouble and have real cognitive dissonance when it comes to letting anyone else speak.

And the recent report about their bias.

Well I hope it brings to an end pandering to the TRA tactic of refusing to debate with anyone GC. It was beyond ridiculous that the BBC willingly allowed themselves to be manipulated in this way, the end result being GC voices were not platformed. If they don't want to debate, fine, they were offered an opportunity and refused. End of story.
Of course the real reason is they have no coherent arguments, only emotional blackmail and will be shown up for what they are.

According to the folk at Amnesty/their own commissioned expert researchers (who are clearly on the truth and justice side of things I'm sure you'll agree), in their Snowball report, it was a headline finding that "coverage of trans people is disproportionate to the the size of the trans population".

This was based on analysis of 17,000+ news reports.

I read that today on the MBM timeline, but the Snowball report is still up, so you can re-validate it on there if you want.

I haven't yet listened, but I am guessing Luke was wittering on about Being Kind and that there would be a way to respect everyone's rights.... but without actually giving a testable example of how?

That's all it ever is. Handwringing and platitudes. If someone could - just once - come up with an actual statement of how women and trans identified people could co-exist in actuality, I'm sure we'll all be ready to debate it. But it's only ever airy-fairy fluff. Which is hiding the real truth of "women must submit" that they are too weak to say out loud. Not gonna happen, pal.

Magical thinking doesn't require proof or even a substantive theory. It just requires belief, or in the case of transgender ideology, fealty to the cause.
A few platitudes come in handy, but that's about it.
Tryl and the gay progressive Maffia are happy for TWAW to be an article of faith, and in the Left's articles of faith, the arrow of progress points in one direction only.
I genuinely don't see Tryl "believing" men can "become" women, more that the article of faith requires interest groups to shift around to allow the current cause to have space to flourish.
Women are expected to realise the whole world is a better place when their comfortably established rights and benefits springing from these can shift over, and budge up, to let the "greater good" prevail.
