Just a reminder:

Equality Act 2010 - 16 years ago
Supreme Court ruling (April 2025) - 15 months ago

I'm so angry about all the public services in the UK that are refusing to obey the law, that I thought I'd just start a list of them, starting with the most recent I can think of (and have recent threads on FWR). Please feel free to add any others you find.

Lambeth Council
NHS Scotland
Staffordshire Police
Hampstead Ponds
Bristol City Council

New thread here about six London councils decrying the EHRC guidance (I can't get the Times link to work for some reason):

Thanks to @Apollo441

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5563244-6-london-councils-to-ignore-ehrc-guidance

From the article: (thanks to @yetanotherusernameAgain

"... leaders of Hackney, Haringey, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Waltham Forest - boroughs with some of the highest trans and non-binary communities in the country - have demanded the government clarifies that the code must not be used to exclude trans people from services. They have also warned that council staff should not be placed at risk of “inadvertent discrimination”, where no third spaces are available to Trans+ people."
[my bold]

(If someone can find the Times link to the article, that would be great. The link in thread above leads me to just the Times front page)

The left and polite society/civic institutions are so stupid. What do they think is going to happen if a Reform govt takes hold? That the niceties of life will be maintained?
No, they've shown that the rule of law can be flouted as the SC ruling is ignored or obfuscated every step of the way by the NHS, police, universities, academia etc.
So a Reform govt will similarly push their agenda.
Don't like illegals being rounded up and deported by Reform ? Their lawful rights ignored? The rule of law should prevail?
Well, you should have thought about that when even after the SC ruling came in, you still put men's rights above women's.
Reform will have been watching. And learning.

Unfortunately. It's very worrying and the people ignoring, flouting the law don't seem to have a clue that the same rule breaking can be used against them. It worries me hugely that Reform may prevail. I have two dual heritage DC, adults, born here and citizens by right of birth, but I know in my guts that that is no protection against Reform and its anti-immigrant agenda.
This lot of clowns endanger us all and for what? Men's rights and pandering to male fetishes.

Just saw this from Islington Council

Let's Ignore The Supreme Court and the Rule of Law (or We Hate Women. We Hate That They Have Rights. So We're Going To Break The Law Because We Feel Like It.)

"Islington Labour will welcome further guidance from the government..."

Dear Islington Council,

Read the bloody EHRC guidance and Supreme Court ruling from April 2025.

Best regards,

Not Bridget

I know it's been said many times before but:
where was all this concern for women when our spaces were redesignated?

Their handwringing about those poor, poor transpeople - all less than 1% of them - having to use the toilets which are designated by biological sex, is stark proof that they don't think women matter.

It's so blatant, don't they realise - even if they don't care - how anti-women this makes them appear?
The Islington statement is pure anti-women DARVO.

My conclusion after all this, so far, is

They hate women

and

They are afraid of other men.

Misogyny. Age-old, never goes away, always under the surface, misogyny.

It's the fall-back position whenever men don't want to acknowledge the word NO. Non-creative, non-productive, money-grubbing, careless, senseless, useless, insecure, aggressive, never-evolved, think-with-their-dicks caveman children.

Eek! Thanks. I have really had enough of the spineless excuses now. They've run out of "reasons" so now it's just "we hate you, and we don't feel like it, so make me" level of attack. I am trying not to despair (I won't), but not doing very well today.

Must not spend my whole Sunday feeling angry. Plenty of time for that next week. 😝

I am sickened to read that my own council, Vale of White Horse is one of the culprits - although perhaps I shouldn't be,

They are now whining about needing to find more money to fix it for the poor little trans identfying men. Will I be able to deduct a portion of my council tax payment from them?
