For Women Scotland 'schools' Alan Cumming over trans rights as he defends Nicola Sturgeon

FWS rejected Cumming's framing, firmly pushing back on his assertion that women's rights campaigners are merely focused on bathroom access.

"We aren't focused on toilets, we care about women's safety in prison, hospitals, rape crisis. Women cannot exist in a world where our safety & dignity are compromised. We should be past the point where we sacrifice everything for male demands.

"And yes, you silly little man, we read the Bill. Although it's quite clear that you didn't and haven't read the ruling of the Supreme Court.

"You aren't getting flak for supporting 'trans rights'. No one is 'legislating [them] out of existence'. A man can still wear a dress & call himself Daisy. The flak you get is for thinking women are nothing more than support animals & that we must put our lives on the line."

Why are The Times interviewing such a washed up has been in the first place, was it a slow news day.

I love FWS's response, very forthright, unlike the lying, emotional blackmail drivel he vomited up.

Cumming said: “It’s just become about toilets. That’s really what it’s about, f*ing toilets, when actually people’s lives are at stake and we want everyone to be safe and we want everyone to feel secure and aware of that."

Strong agree with Cumming here. I share his exasperation.

During years of research I have found that when people’s lives are at stake in a toilet compartment (cardiac arrest, stroke, drug overdose, spiking, self harm, choking, neurological and heart conditions etc etc), a door gap ensures the best outcome as the emergency can be seen and any cries for help heard, so the person is more likely to be rescued in time. I want everyone to be safe too. My campaign is trying to make everyone aware of the safest design.

Single sex toilets in a single sex environment are the only ones permitted to have door gaps (Health and Safety Executive pers comm.).

In these safer designs, there can be a gap above the doors and partitions to the ceiling. The height of a cubicle partition or door should not be less than 1900 mm and gaps beneath partitions and doors should not exceed 150mm.

Wait, ohhhh……

The ones making it all about toilets are Alan Cummings, TRAs and their allies, with their piss protests and claims of genital checks being necessary. We know why they do this, we are not stupid, the reason they do is that if they are granted the right to access single sex toilets for the opposite sex then they can claim we are women enough to use opposite sex toilets so we are women enough to have access to all spaces, services and sports that are for females

It's a NO, get over it.

Here's an idea Alan why don't you make sure that transwomen are accepted and safe in male facilities? Throw yourself into campaigning for that.

FWS's response was excellent, absolutely perfect.

It certainly seems to be "all about the toilets" for so many TRAs like Cummings here who keep threatening to use women's toilets and humiliate women in them.
Toilets just happen to be the most frequent public interface where the sexes have to be kept seperate.
Not every woman does sport, few go to prison or rape centres.
But every woman uses toilets in public spaces.
And so that's the most pertinent point for a clash with women's rights to their own space to happen.
Of course, he knows this which is why he continues to bitch about it.

The way TRAs bring ev-er-y-thing back to 'I want to pee in the ladies' makes me wonder if the T that was added on to LGB actually stands for Toilets🙄

What a tiresome, hectoring bore he has become. And a bully into the bargain. I used to be a big fan , albeit because the kids liked him so much when they were young. At least he never got to be a Doctor....

When was the last time he even had to use a public toilet anyway? I suspect, as JK Rowling inferred about Emma Watson, he will exist in a gold-plated cocoon and his special sleb status will mean he rarely bothers with the public spaces the rest of us grubby mortals use. In which case, women’s toilets, along with changing rooms, rape crisis centres, societies, prisons, sports etc are absolutely none of his business.

Silly silly little man. But then he goes on to say "... It’s often the women who are given the blame of it. You can look through history and see that", and "who is the person that’s getting all the shit about it? The woman. Oh, suddenly we don’t believe her. It’s awful.” Yes, well done, the women do tend to get the blame and the men get away with things. Hmmm..where else do we see that happening Alan? Women being pushed aside or being villified so men can live their lives?

I've never quite understood why people think he's so great. He always plays himself, and he's not that charming.
