Irishman who was convicted of murdering American nurse MacKenzie Michalski in Hungary, named in Irish Independent as Lorcan Murphy.

He was tried, and sentenced, under anonymity because of Hungary’s privacy laws.

Another man whose fetishes involve filming women, and we see where their known propensity to escalation leads. Very dangerous for women and children. He only got 14 years. And the creep has the brass neck to say how good he was for not escaping.

Escalation of dangerous male behaviour as a result of sexist/misogynist fetish is something our justice & legal system is not properly set up to deal with - not only are the Gardaí rubbish at it but police forces worldwide seem to regularly fail to make the connections in patterns of male behaviour towards women and children.

I’m glad he has finally been named, hungarys courts prevented it for a while and comment sections on social media for this story were all ‘stop the boats’ and blaming immigrants for something they clearly had nothing to do with.

14 years is nothing for what he did. Deliberate, premeditated and sadistic. And he has no remorse and claims an 'accident' despite filming the victim's body and the pattern of secretly filming multiple other women potential victims.

14 years? Is that supposed to be justice?
