According to sources, Special Operations Forces first carried out preliminary actions that disrupted terrorists activities in the area, creating confusion within their camps.

This, they said, allowed ground troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade to move in and successfully rescue the abducted civilians.

“The victims were reportedly abducted during an attack on Ngoshe community on March 3, 2026,” Makama wrote.

However, the operation recorded a tragic incident as two infants died during the rescue due to the difficult terrain encountered while evacuating the victims.

I had first thought it would be the rescue of the women kidnapped years ago.

But glad these women and children have been rescued. And hope they can get back to their lives.

My first thought was the ones who were kidnapped years ago, too. But happy for these women and children who have been rescued, I would imagine that the last three months have been pure hell for them. What a shame the two babies didn’t make it though.

Thanks for the update date, it's good to know they are able to get some of the stolen woman back, even better knowing that the authorities are willing to try. I hope they all get back to where they belong safely and can put the horror of their experience behind them.

I have looked for earlier threads about previous kidnapping and dont know why but as usual MN search cant find its own links.

My hope is that because these rescue seems to have happened quite quickly the future for those rescued is positive.

In the earlier threads where young women had been held for some time, ie years, and had been forced to have children, they did not receive support or even a welcome.

So sad.

In so many areas of conflict women just become another commodity to be taken or bartered.

Hopefully these women will have a chance to recover, having been gone for a relatively short time. But it’s shocking that this is now so normal that 360 women and girls can be taken, with barely a headline until they are rescued.
