@Boiledbeetle I'm so sorry about your horrific abuse. I'm glad he died in prison.
I can't believe that your doctor had 17000 CSA images/videos and still got a non-custodial sentence.
It also included 45 of the most serious category A, of which 11 were video files up to an hour long of children being raped and abused. . . .
Police analysts reported that there were many more files on his computer but with almost 17,000 images discovered they stopped searching, Mr Hussey said.
Richard Pratt QC, defending, said Bland was of previous “outstanding” character and was highly regarded in the community and within his profession.
Who cares if he's highly regarded in the community and within his profession? How does this in any way mitigate him facilitating child abuse and exploitation?? Not a few files, but almost 17k files when they stopped searching because there were so many!
It's outrageous that so many judges and community members are willing to excuse vile CSA, especially when highly regarded men are involved.
re: Lucy Dean, the man described in the OP
The police found more than 1,000 images of child pornography, 306 images in the most serious category A, including 224 videos, some of which showed babies in severe distress being sexually assaulted. Officers also found 173 images in category B, including 53 videos and 525 images in category C, of which 48 were videos, as well as six prohibited images of a child, images that were said to not be actual children.
“There were images of babies being sexually abused, some clearly in distress. This is serious offending of its type. The case is aggravated by the very young age of some of those depicted in the images, their distress and the fact there is a large collection of moving content.''
Dean faced three years in jail under sentencing guidelines after admitting one charge of possession of prohibited images of a child and three charges of making indecent images of children, in category A, B and C between August 2023 and June 2025.
He downloaded videos of babies being raped and the most he could have been handed is three years. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Then he didn't even get a custodial sentence. This is the law saying that raping babies is a minor misdeed, not a horrific depravity.
I'm so angry at the justice system.
