A bit niche but I'll take anything at the moment.

Mark Williams who played Mr Weasley in the Harry Potter films has readers' questions in The Guardian. He speaks with great fondness of filming the role and there are a number of questions about filming Harry Potter. No-one asks him about JK Rowling. It just cheered me up that even in Guardianland Harry Potter can't be cancelled.

Mark Williams: ‘I browsed tractor magazines with Robbie Coltrane on the set of Harry Potter’

The star of The Fast Show and Father Brown – as well as the original Arthur Weasley – on friendly death eaters, famous Brummies and Chinese trains

Bluestockingers - he says his favourite cake is a Battenberg.

An interesting article altogether.

I can't read any of that without hearing it in his voice and adding "... which was nice...!"

THAT'S how I know his face! Thank you, it was annoying me..
I've never seen a HP film - nor read a HP book - so wouldn't have recognised him from there.
But was he the actor who said '...which was nice'? I thought it was - y'know, the other chap [not good on actors' names, clearly!]

I like your thread title, Lovelyview, very intriguing, who could resist finding out what it's about..

I agree with you @MarieDeGournay, thoroughly intriguing thread title, and I enjoyed reading that article. Just wondering whether or not I could get away with eating an entire Battenberg myself ...

Yes he was the which was nice one in the Fast Show.
Are you thinking of the Jazz Club sketches where John Thompson just said "Nice"?

I remember a programme of all the bits that didn't make it into the show with Mark Williams being an angry driver in slow traffic naming shops, at one point he just ended up ranting "Shoe shop, shoe shop, shoe shop, shoe shop", which admittedly may not convey very well in writing but was very funny.

I always think of him in the financial planning ad as the devoted homebody husband sitting on a couch with the wife who wants to go have fun - "we wnto to be together

Yes, whatever I saw him in, I always thought of him as the 'we want to be together' man. Even now I never remember his actual name.
