Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Conversation with DD 20

Last night, I had one of those conversations with my 20 year old DD on the landing before bed that ended up with us sitting slightly uncomfortably but embroiled for ages.

My cup overflowed with pride when she wanted to show me ‘this amazing woman’ who she follows on social media.

She then played Amy Sousa (@knownheretic) videos she’d saved! DD, I feel, would have been prime target for the trans narrative in her teen years. She’s autistic, suffered horrendous trauma and has grown up surrounded by friends who adopted trans and non binary identities etc.

Tbh, if I was a teenager in the mid 2010s I could have seen myself getting sucked into too.

The fact that she peaked of her own volition (I’ve been slightly careful not to send her ‘the opposite way’ with my rants) and has delved into stuff that hasn’t just been shared by me made me feel all proud 😂

Glad to hear it. ❤️

That's lovely. It's awful that all this is yet another fear that parents must have - that our children could get caught up in a cult that insists sex change is a positive option for children / young people as they navigate the trials of puberty and developing to being a responsible adult.

Oh that’s brilliant! Both that Amy’s videos are reaching far and wide and that your DD’s eyes have been opened!

I do feel second wave feminism 2.0 is emerging from this shite fest.
