A new paper has been published in the European Journal of Developmental Psychology discussing the Dutch Protocol used for treating children with gender-related issues - the paper discusses the work/output of the Center of Expertise on Gender Dysphoria (CEGD). I'm posting a link here for those it might interest.

'...it is concerning that, in 2026, leading clinicians and researchers at CEGD express more confidence in the Dutch approach, when the appropriate response to the many systematic reviews published over the past 6 years would be less confidence in its effectiveness and, consequently, greater clinical caution.'

“The Dutch Protocol is a treatment in search of an indication”

That is quite a damning criticism and worth a full read. Thanks for the post @UtopiaPlanitia

I have been waiting for a paper that review the Dutch protocol that was due out. Is this it U.P, do you think! I thought it was a Dutch group of academics reviewing it though… maybe I was mistaken.

I shall read this with interest tomorrow.

thank you Utopia.

I came across this paper via a discussion on TwiX; I didn't see a mention of anything else being published, soz.

It makes for interesting reading.

Didn’t Finland ditch the Dutch protocol because of evidence that it was not optimal?
