It gets worse. Turns out Gillard is a judge on the Women's Prizes 2026 😡

She is described as "Julia Gillard is the former Prime Minister of Australia, and a women’s rights campaigner". Well they can fuck right off with that!! 😡

He’s in conversation with Julia Gillard, whose work as Chair of the Wellcome Trust supports science to solve the planet’s urgent challenges.

Somebody needs to tell the Hay Festival that Julia Gillard has no idea what science is.

Women's Prize being handed to an underwhelming TIM in 3...2...1...

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 15/05/2026 16:12

Followed by anyone taking women's competitions or prizes seriously ending in 3...2...1.

Given the news from Aus re the Giggle court case, I won't trust myself to post a comment on this miserable, mistake of reproduction just now.

Do they take questions from the audience at Hay? I imagine there will be women with questions....

She is on the well-worn Sturgeon circuit. Not only Jesus but the donkey wept.

Yes, she is very much Australia's Sturgeon.

Trampling all over women's rights, whilst calling herself a feminist 🙄

Sturgeon is talking at the Borders Book Festival and I’ve got a ticket to her event. I doubt they will allow questions but I’ll ask for ideas just before I go, just in case. Shall we organise a protest aimed at Gillard?
