How does this article, which is about the biology of actual women, square with the Guardian's longstanding belief that people who "don’t have periods, give birth or go through menopause" can also be called women? Someone didn't get the memo? TWAW right?

I think the lead is written by someone totally different to the article itself. Don't be put off by it as the actual article is quite good!

The tide really has turned on this. Though there are still true believers, many “be kind” moderates have been quietly (and in many cases almost subconsciously) adding qualifiers to their support: “Oh but only female people give birth/have periods/go through menopause/should be in women’s sport.”

It really can’t be underestimated just how much TRA support was generated by obscuring what the activists actually wanted.

They all know what a woman is. They will happily lie to keep their jobs and will no doubt pretend they didn't when it falls out of fashion. Which it will.

Yes I was mightily shocked to see this in the Graun. I have no doubt that they will forget this again though as soon as some trans identified male comes to them with a story about awful transphobic women...

I stumbled across this YouTube posted on the New York Times channel that recognises that men and women are different and that ignoring those differences is to the detriment of women

I'm pretty certain they're, much like the Guardian, TWAW.

The video is worth a watch. It's covering the same ground as Invisible Women, it is sickening and infuriating.
