Snooker's 'silver lady' trophy is actually a cross-dressing man, says the BBC

We've just had the final of the World Snooker Championships in Sheffield, which was broadcast on the BBC.

The winner's trophy features a 'silver lady'.

The BBC decided to introduce the final by getting a local woman to pretend she is the silver lady.

And of course the woman they found was ...

a cross-dressing man.

This is disgusting @BBCSport . It indulges this man’s fetish. You can hear the thrill in his voice. The World Snooker Championships are held in Sheffield. The prestigious trophy has a “silver lady” on top. Stephen (Stephanie) Hirst is a man pretendi...

The BEEB really hate women. Any opportunity to put the boot in. It's blatant. And disgusting.

Oh FFS 🤦‍♀️

It's so pathetic that I'm actually starting to find it funny at this point. No one is buying what they're selling anymore, but they're going to double down right until the end.

Himdia vibes

Good grief, they just can't help themselves, can they?

They nearly did it, they had a piece on young women and girls on during the coverage, coached by an older lady, a former champion. I can't find out who she is.

Me too. 🥳😀
Its like buzz word bingo. There must be a staff prize for the most irrelevant inclusion. 0.1% of the population but they creep in everywhere. 🪲

Is it just me but the other legacy channels such as ITV, Channel 4 don't seem to have the same approach. They do have transvestite men in programmes but they are not shoehorned into every sodding category - news, vox pop, cooking, dancing, book reviews and feminist drama.

I will be voting to defund the BBC when I get the opportunity. We do not need an addled state broadcaster.

I listened to a reporter talking about how the BBC had changed the way it shows being unbiased. He said that formerly if you had someone on the dangers of smoking you got someone from the tobacco industry as the opposition. Now, however, since the science is settled that is no longer the case and you do not get opposing views on eg climate change, vaping, trans ideology. I was appalled - not that the tobacco industry is no longer lying to us (a very carefully chosen opposite view, I thought) but that the science is not settled, because science doesn't deal in ultimate answers but in hypothesis which can be changed, indeed, must change as we gain more knowledge. Not reassuring at all but explains the intrusion into women's hour of trans identified males etc and the BBC attitude to the Israel-Gaza war.

It is so gauche of them.
How pathetic BBC.

Argonometra · 31/05/2026 02:34

I think that trans extremists mistake inclusion for popularity. As if the teachers/government forcing every club to let you in is the same as being welcomed in and actually belonging there... But nobody needs the first kind of 'validation'. It won't heal anybody.
