AidaP is scraping Mumsnet threads, and grading them

BambooLampshade · 28/04/2026 21:15

Honestly, this man is obsessed. He has now created a program to scrape and grade Mumsnet threads from this board.

What is this?

Oh yes, I have downloaded most of mumsnet and we will be doing embeddings of the content to try to understand how does the rot and hate builds and spreads.

I never had so much hate and delusion on my hard drive before 😅

You know what might sober everyone up.

chocolate covered coffee beans. I could eat a whole bag, but it would probably kill me.

Sorry didn’t realise thread had been derailed.
Chopped apricots for me!

Oh, now, you can't just start introducing new fruits into the conversation this late in the game! Everyone knows that apricots are vile!

Morning all... I said MORNING ALL... It's me, Marie!
why are you all turning your backs and walking away??

It's They flee from me that sometime did me seek, innit?😟😢😭

I love that poem! ( and we love you, Marie)

No, I think that was a drag queen known as Aida HD, or a similar cringy pun name based on ADHD.

ETA - for some reason, I really fancy a chocolate bar right now.

Re chocolate bar: welcome to my world.

I wouldn't do it with Bolly. unless you can afford Bolly to waste.

However, you can soak raisins in any wine and then put them in a dessert. Probably best in a cakey dessert so that the soaked up wine doesn't water down a set custard as it matures.

I'm a regular at the Bluestocking, where the Bolly is free, and on tap, didn't you know?😃

Now you're suggesting spoiling a perfectly good cakey dessert with rsns, is nothing sacred to you people?

The fruit gifs are quite eye opening.

Or put your raisins in tea, bring it to the boil, cool and sweeten the mix and proceed to make a tea brack / boiled cake.

Raisins soaked in rum added to banana bread is nice.

Cherry Ripe was an existing product in the Australian market when Cadbury took over.

Most of the different bars and lollies made by organisations such as Cadbury or Nestle were loved legacy products that have continued to be produced because of people prefer them.

Remember also that chocolate bars in Australia will have a chocolate recipe that withstands heat better. No point in selling chocolate that has to be in the fridge as the fridge space is taken up by higher value products in small convenience stores.

Genuinely fascinating. Had never thought of the heat factor! Thank you. :)

Is that 'The Hound of Heaven', Mmmnotsure?

It's very admirable of you and Arabella and Deano to still give me the time of day, despite my unacceptable attitude to raisins Grin

I'm much more likely to shun someone I suspect will try to steal my favourite foods than someone who'll leave them for me.

Everything is available there, and it is magically devoid of anything problematic like calories or gluten or the kind of alcohol that might get you in trouble with the rozzers while driving home. But still tastes lovely.

Managing to get Bolly on tap to still taste perfect involved a lorra lorra magic!😄
Pop in any time to test all these claims for yourself!

Yes, it is. Though I can’t see you as that kind of hound. Vacillating between Irish Setter and one of the less loopy spaniels.

Ah good, I got it right. Thank you for reminding me of that extraordinary poem, I'm going to read it in full nowSmile
I'm not sure where I sit ['Sit!'] in the world of Irish doggyhood, but before my hair was grey it had a bit of a Red Setter tinge to it, so maybe that?

After I read The Hound of Heaven I really must go and do some important things, but I'm loathe to leave, you are all such good company, so funny and so erudite.

I'll draw a discreet veil over the dried fruits thing...😝

Aida's scraping program is now going to decide that "Weetabix" is TERF code for something nefarious 😈

Haha yes, that's true.

Thank you @BambooLampshade I've really enjoyed this thread. For various reasons. Weetabix really is the most versatile of breakfast options but I've currently banned it as my four year old drips it everywhere and it has dried into my table legs like cement that I can't seem to get off, despite using scrubbers and even (gulp) a flat cake knife.

I have also yet to find a dessert wine I like. And I want to find one as I love blue cheese and apparently it goes well with that. I'm off to a wine tasting event this year (Tom Gilbey, highly recommend his very funny YouTube videos btw), and I'm going to ask him what he recommends.

And to the actual point of the thread, I hope Mumsnet delivers the same warning to that unstable Aida they did to Aston uni. At least Eden was attempting a PhD, although with a flawed, biased premise. Aida appears to just be doing this for "fun"?

Raisins soaked in tea reminds me I have nascent plans to try making bara brith. I've got a recipe bookmarked for dark chocolate and ginger bara birth but I feel I should make the original first before going all heretical. Do you think it could be made using sultanas instead of raisins. Only I've already got a bag of the former.

What was the nature of a Cadbury Stroller?

Does anyone else remember Quirks? They were like pastel smarties with a mint flavour. I bloody loved them.

ArabellaScott · Yesterday 11:16

Quirks were supposed to be the smallest particles, but by now we all know they'll come up with another one with an even sillier name in about five minutes.

"Turtles"

Eventually we'll hit the turtles, then it's turtles all the way down.
