IMO the nurses are being harassed on the basis of a protected characteristic, and I can't see how the NHS is repeatedly getting away with it. The Equality Act has been completely undermined, no one should be celebrating that as a win.

The nmc are in an awful mess. Financial management has been appalling over the last decade- millions of pounds of registrant fees squandered on a bloated inefficient and ineffective workforce, failed transformation projects, failed attempts at overhauling leadership to create stability and a system that is years away from being in a position to hear cases in a timely, fair and proportionate manner. Utterly toxic through and through.

This will be quickly put in the ‘transphobia’ folder and they’ll probably hold a staff engagement event to remind staff that the only “women” who matter are those who were born male.

"She warned the council that there was “a clear risk to public confidence” in pursuing the cases as doing so “suggests a regulator focused on policing language and belief, rather than protecting patients and supporting staff”

Until the capture of regulatory bodies by queer theory political lobby groups ceases, people will continue to be in fear for their careers if they dare speak about facts, science and biology, let alone women's rights and safeguarding children.

The priorities of unions are inexcusable. One comment by a reader in today's Times mentions yet another aspect of them neglecting the welfare of their members, while still being obsessed with nothing but "men are women".

The issue under discussion was that so many nurses have long Covid, to the point of giving up careers, and that the union has taken no interest:
Apparently one of the multiple peculiar alternative uses of weight loss drugs is that for some people, it can help long Covid symptoms:
That, one might think, could be a perfect example of something the union could be investigating. And even subsidising a trial of drugs, instead of subjecting it's members to trials for the invented 'crime' of failing to pretend that men are women.
