Labour (whether it is under Starmer or his successor) must decide whether they will uphold a more muscular liberalism, one that seeks to balance the rights of all, and is willing to take the decisions necessary to defend that stance with conviction.
Enforcing sex-based rights for women and girls is one of the most straightforward tests of its integrity in this matter, but it is a test that it is currently failing.
