Best resources explaining JKRs position on trans identifying people?

I know she has published her own essay, but, I am looking for shorter more accessible resources or even videos which are supportive, fully explain things and are short and clear enough for a early teen to understand - appreciate it!

(Yes I know I could google etc but I am certain you can all give me some very good vetted recommendations)

Its pointless looking for a ''magic bullet'' that will help you win a debate, because only one side is using facts and evidence. The other side is using purity spirals and group think. That kind of thinking appeals to authoritarian types, and free thinkers scare them.

@BonfireLady I forgot about that video, didn’t the teacher get sacked after it?

He did and now has YT 601,000 subscribers.

I mean, he will probably make in 1 year what it would take 10 as a teacher.

Again and again the people that get sacked for literally saying 'think for yourself' end up more well known and with higher incomes than their original jobs would ever give them.

Why can't people just read the essay. Why do they require third party explanations and other people to 'interpret' for them?

Social media and podcasts have turned people stupid.

I'd refine that further and say that actual thinking scares many people. They seem to need to know what other people say about a topic or issue first before they feel confident to come out with an opinion themselves; and these 'opinions' are set in stone and immune to reasoned critique or argument....because that would involve them, once again, in the scary process of independent investigation, analysis and the development of logical consistency.

Ah, but if they read the essay they’d see that she didn’t write anything terrible, and that would spoil everything. What they do instead is watch endless instagram and TikTok reels about how she’s a terrible transphobe and has said offensive things, and agree with them, so that they can fit in with their peers who do the same.

If they said “hang on, she didn’t actually say anything bad at all” they’d be an outlier, and wouldn’t be part of the in crowd any more, which would be unbearable.

Exactly this.

Thanks everyone for this much appreciated, not actually for my daughter of single sex spaces fame, someone else, but I will show her anyway for extra support. And I hope it's helpful for others passing by, the whole controversy has been manufactured by echo chambers and shock-click web nonsense I am certain

Pointless trying to get another source to explain her position. It's clear from reading her letter and how she funds women's orgs that she is not transphobic. If the person you're trying to talk to doesn't understand that then a video won't help. It's such a poisoned topic these days. Maybe it's better to just state your own position.

I totally appreciate where you are coming from but you're barking up the wrong tree. IT's resources I can show to school age kids who have basically just heard that she is transphobic and sort of accepted it but will happily change their minds if they see evidence, right now most people have not seen any at all, just third hand reports and rumours :)
