Same in the Telegraph. It is completely misleading. For the benefit of anyone thinking that we are being hateful:
Girl Guiding is for girls.
So the parents of boys shouldn't send them to GG because they are boys.
Girls have a right to not always be with boys if they dont want to be, especially in the context of group overnight trips etc. Safeguarding rules need to apply.
If parents don't want single sex provision, they don't have to join GG and they could instead, for eg, go to any mixed sex group such as Scouts.
If GG want to change their constitution to become mixed-sex, they presumably can. But they can't say they are for girls and let in boys.
And to be clear, a 'transgender girl' is a boy.
GG are not stopping trans children from joining.
Any girls can join, if they want to, including, obviously, girls who believe they are trans-identified, ie 'trans boys'.
As ever, this.is nothing to do with 'trans' . This is to do with girls being allowed their own spaces, away from boys.
