If it is any consolation, we've had to buy a new dishwasher, a new fridge, and a new car in the past year. We've had another large car-related bill, and had to get the plumber in to replace the shower pump. And then we got a blocked drain and had to summon Dyno-Rod.
The Stourton bank balance is looking a bit sorry for itself.
On the plus side, I very much enjoyed the sleep gerbil in the hot chocolate. The laugh emoji is much missed. And I'm delighted that Gosie is having a good time, and see that she has taken rather a shine to Margaux. More of a shine to Margaux, in fact, than to Gilbert, Gaston and Gaël.
Like many of you, we had interestingly changeable weather today. The only thing that didn't change was the wind, which blew at whatever level of the Beaufort Scale = daffodil-flattening all day. It was doing it at 7.45a.m. when I nipped out to pick some of the flattened daffodils, and still doing it at 5p.m. when I got back from walking B&B and thought I should probably pick some more, because we won't be able to see them otherwise (but I haven't yet). We definitely had rain and hail, and at one point I glanced out and thought I saw actual snow flurrying down, but I might have been mistaken. And we have had scudding clouds and sun.
The frenetic pace of the tractoring in local fields appears to be slowing. The hawthorn is putting out leaves, I'm seeing daisies and dandelions, and the blackthorn building up towards full bloom.
