how depressing…

I saw this but it’s paywalled
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15633515/King-Charles-charity-cancelled-course-disadvantaged-girls-banning-biological-males.html

so googled and found this:
https://www.britbrief.co.uk/politics/liberties/kings-trust-cancels-girls-boxing-course-over-male-inclusion.html

King's charity cancelled course for girls instead of banning males

The King's Trust was due to run a 'Get started with Boxing and Fitness for Women' course for girls aged 16 to 25 that was open to 'female identifying/presenting' people.

Are there any elements of the King’s Trust which are exclusively for men and boys? If so, have these been allowed to continue?

I had a quick look at their website and there doesn't appear to be.

If there were then it appears that they've removed those as well as the women only events.

So much better to destroy everything for girls rather than subject a couple of boys to the horror of experiencing girls having rights that present a limit to their self expression.

Witness the courage to face all the girls and all the negative PR of this by taking this course, so it's not cowardice, it's a belief.

Coatsoff42 · 19/03/2026 15:58

It seems ironic that in a time of increasing violence against women and girls, they would remove training for girls’ self defence.

Absolutely appalling (but not unsurprising). @Scotthistle. We have to expose this denial of opportunities to young girls; it’s scandalous. Sam Merriman at the Mail on Sunday would very much like to speak to you and can guarantee complete anonymity [email protected]

Wrangling over the EHRC CoP is a complete red herring if we are talking about boxing, or any other contact sport, it's a safety issue. And safety alone.
If the WI and Girlguides can come to the conclusion that women/girl means female, ot shouldn't be difficult for the King's Trust to make the same decision for female-only activities. If only the adults in the room would grow a backbone.

WTAF thats wild.

I could almost forgive them pulling any type of boxing due to the dementia risks, thinking the male / female thing might just be a part of the picture.
But to pull ALL female things is ridiculous.

This from an organisation that explicitly references the sex of its patron in its name.🙄What fucking nonsense.

I wonder if he could start identifying as the Queen instead.

FFS.
I'm endlessly appalled by how much, mostly female, effort and money has to go into dealing with idiocy like this.

Bloody entitled men. They need to get a grip on reality and grow TF up.

I have never written to the King before. Now might be the time to start. He may not be actively involved but it bears his name. I struggle to believe that some lunatics are so deeply committed to this that unless men are allowed to publicly batter women they throw their toys out of the pram.

Camilla is interested in vawag. She might be worth a letter too if you are so inclined.

BunfightBetty · 20/03/2026 11:26

They'll be in the shit if the Daily Mail gets wind of this and runs it as a story. Can you imagine the headlines? They'll gleefully link the King to this, hands-off or not.

Edited

Now the Daily Mail enjoy a wee nosy on MN that I know.
A few years back they lifted a thread of mine, twisted it around and printed it. I really wasn't impressed!
However I'd be happy for them to give the King's Trust a wee bashing.

Anyone thinking women have anything even approaching equality at this point is lying to themselves.

The Mail have now covered it, I saw it on Twitter.

I might even forgive them for calling me an 'anxious mother'!

BeSpoonyTurtle · 07/04/2026 07:32

Have there been any updates on this?

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 07/04/2026 07:39

Loud and clear message from the patriarchy: better all girls miss out completely than have to say “no” to even one boy. Very very depressing.
