She was doing a reading on stage, and the protestors were literally running up on to the stage. The theatre refused to cancel her. A rare bit of heartening news from Germany, where the self-identity law is way out there (parents can "choose their child's sex" from birth).

I think it is heartening news.
The event wasn't cancelled at least and the theatre supported her.
