I saw Sarah Keyworth, of whom I had never previously heard, on Richard Osman's House of Games this week. I found her entertaining and looked her up. Wikipedia says they are non binary. Wikipedia also says this:

Keyworth emerged as a runner-up at the 2015 Funny Women[8] and their first show, Dark Horse, was nominated for best newcomer at the 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.[9]

Help me understand! This is a genuine question. I'm not trying to cause trouble. I don't understand why you'd enter a women's competition if you don't identify as one.

Wikipedia also says they use various pronouns but continues to use they. I'm baffled.

Because if there was a non-binary category,

She'd win.

There isn't, so she has to participate in the second most populated category and claim a prize that belongs to women.

If she entered the male category, they'd all go "WTF?" and demand she gets a grip.

That's how it works.

To be fair that was 11 years ago when she did identify as a woman. Her career is now obviously on the decline so she has adopted a spicy new personality as NB to put herself back in the spotlight. She is of course also gay & has ADHD.

As a pp says that was a number of years ago and I think the non-binary identity is more recent.

She has had her breasts removed, I gather. I hope it does make her happy as it's an awful thing if you changed your mind.

I think all of us women with short hair should declare ourselves non-binary because it does seem to be the basic criterion.

Tragic. And I mean that.

Still not sure how you can identify as gay, meaning attracted to the same sex when you don't identify as a sex??? Makes no sense.

This.

Also, I've got no problem with a woman entering a women's competition regardless of what mental health struggles she's having. She is a woman therefore she's entitled to be there.
