Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Pink News survey on the impact of the Supreme Court judgement, one year on

OhBuggerandArse · 02/03/2026 20:24

The very helpful Nick Wallis has drawn our attention to the following survey which has just opened. x.com/nickwallis/status/2028543149765689464

I'm sure the good people at Pink News are very eager to hear from a diverse range of respondents; they have obligingly included enough free text boxes to make it possible to share detailed and thoughtful comments.

What a wonderful example of how not to conduct a survey....should be studied at GCSE to teach ineptitude

"I do not have a gender history"

I put 'I don't understand the question' for that one, because I genuinely don't.

Q17: What areas of your life do you feel have been most impacted by the Supreme Court ruling from April 2025. Tick all that apply.
Mental health
Physical health
Emotional wellbeing
Social life
Personal relationships
Career progression and development
Finances
Connection to local community
Legal rights
Ability to travel
Unsure
Prefer to not say
Other:

No idea whether that is meant to be positive or negative impact 🤔🙄

MoistVonL · 03/03/2026 13:14

I clicked loads of them and had already entered the "very positive impact" option, @SternJoyousBeev2

Freda69 · 03/03/2026 13:16

Thank you - that was fun. ‘I have been female since conception’.

Wow that questionnaire is a quite strong example of how to get the answers you want from the way you ask the questions.

100% Talk about leading.

I may have pointed that out in my answers, just a bit.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 03/03/2026 13:48

Spot the demographic question they didn't ask.

Where did "sexual orientation" go?

Iamnotalemming · 03/03/2026 13:57

The questions are arguably worse than the classic "when did you stop beating your wife?" because you can see the headlines they want and are looking for evidence to base them on. Affirmation bias in action.

My email address is showing at the top of the form - before I answer I'd like to know whether that is something they can see?

I don't believe they can. I have used Google forms for my own surveys and I cannot see the email addresses of my survey respondents, although when you go to the survey your email address is displayed at the top in the same way with (not shared) after.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 03/03/2026 15:30

Not playing with that... I suppose we can look forward to 'discovering how women actually do have rights too despite our best efforts ruined our lives' sadface articles.

For a law not actually being implemented at government level it will look like it's doing ok though!

I'll wait for the sadface article from a bent survey of muggers and burglars saying the law protecting other people from using them ruins their lives.

They have a lot of questions on whether people have been challenged using loos. It might almost be appropriate to say they're looking to bend the results with leading questions.
I wonder why they'd want to do that.

deadpan · 03/03/2026 15:52

For some reason I couldn't post normally so had to quote post 🤷🏼‍♀️

singthing · 03/03/2026 17:55

Someone somewhere is creating a Claude Skill that will mass-upload responses, all supporting gender woo. Any fool will be able to tell from any free text data at the end of it, but I suspect that it won't be released.

Igmum · 04/03/2026 13:02

I put that it was great that same sex attraction was permitted again. Obviously not a topic of interest to Pink News…
