“Transgender Cricketer Suing ECB"

DameProfessorIDareSay · 27/02/2026 16:06

Telegraph headline, not my words. Sad bloke ‘forced to come out’ as biologically male. Where’s my tiny violin. No doubt the fox botherer will get some gullible fools to chuck money at this:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/c07248218caf10dc

"The player, whose legal action against the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is being spearheaded by The Good Law Project, also spoke of being “completely heartbroken” by a decision taken in the wake of last year’s Supreme Court ruling on single-sex spaces."

Amateur player taking legal action for ‘discrimination’, claiming they were ‘forced to come out’ as biologically male after ban

Well, "Lily" can fuck off. I am so over this. I imagine the women whose places and awards he stole were completely heartbroken too. Just go away and leave women alone.

RedToothBrush · 27/02/2026 16:36

Poor Lily stole the dreams of women.
Lily can still join the mens team.

“completely heartbroken”

Of course it was, it couldn't just be a bit heartbroken, it has to be the over the top completely.

"... it felt like I was being forced to come out to people I hadn’t felt the need to previously. It made me feel guilty and ashamed even though I hadn’t done anything wrong.”

Apart from the lying and cheating, which used to be considered wrong, if the people around him really didn't know he was 'trans'. If they did then he wasn't forced to come out, so more lying.

deadpan · 27/02/2026 16:45

"coming out" FFS. I bet they identify as trans so they aren't exactly "in" are they.
Very appropriate for a discussion of cricket.

Puts a whole new spin on the old unintentional cricket commentating joke:

“The Bowler’s Holding, The Batsman’s Willey”

😄

There are lots of open and mixed amateur cricket groups for Lily to play in.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/02/2026 17:11

we I'm sure the ECB are shaking in the boots at the prospect of facing the fox batterer and his merry band of delusional grifters

LlynTegid · 27/02/2026 17:22

The ECB are complying with the law. As they should.

If only this issue had been resolved by the Tories years ago as it should have been, then the person concerned would never have been playing in a woman's team to begin with. Less heartache for all.

Lilly can absolutely play with the blokes and he can still pretend to be a woman as women can and do (if they are good enough) play recreational cricket in men’s teams. And if Lilly isn’t good enough to be picked for the 1st team (as he is most definitely not good enough) a lot of clubs have multiple senior teams although the most I have personally come across is a 5th team.

SternJoyousBeev2 · 27/02/2026 18:00

Will be interesting to see what legal argument they put forward as it appears to be the blanket nature of the ban they object to. But what is the realistic alternative to a blanket ban. We all know that ‘case by case’ is just shorthand for letting them all join as no one will want to say no.

MyAmpleSheep · 27/02/2026 18:35

I welcome the legal action. Let's get this settled.

That was my first thought too. Be great to have even more case law supporting women's rights. Looking forward to seeing him lose in court. I cannot believe the selfishness if these men. I also very much doubt that all his team mates, coaches and opponents are supportive of him, as he claims. Far more likely that they don't feel they can speak up.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 27/02/2026 18:50

If he had not tried to appropriate women's sport for his own purposes, he would not have had to openly tell everyone he was a man if he didn't want to.

Fairness and equality for women is not predicated on whether or not it makes men 'heartbroken' to let them have it. That ridiculous entitlement is why laws protecting women's rights and spaces from men are still necessary.

lifeturnsonadime · 27/02/2026 18:54

Most of the men's leagues (especially the lower divisions) are now mixed to a degree as cricket becomes more popular as a women's sport and the stronger women prefer those leagues as they are better for development, my daughter has played in them since she was 12. Every year there seem to be more females playing in them which is great.

Lily would therefore not be out of place at all in a men's league even if he does consider himself to be female.

Iamnotalemming · 27/02/2026 19:08

Join a mixed team lily. We just want our stuff back.

Lily, the men's and/or mixed teams are thataway babe👉

ArabellaScott · 27/02/2026 20:04

Can the GLP piss even MORE money up the wall trying to insist men can magically become women and that they dont need to follow the crystal clear law?

A great never ending grift of attempting to achieve the impossible.

I suppose if your whole generous livelihood depends on creating and fighting lawsuits its actually a better grift if you keep failing, thereby ensuring an endless income.

ArabellaScott · 27/02/2026 20:06

"Help us litigate against the egregiously unfair and relentlessly persistent downwardliness of gravity!"

'Join us as we hold the world to account in its obstinate sphericality!'

'Windmills?! We'll fucking tilt and RAGE at the expensive bastards!

He's probably not good enough to get in...

And that's a him problem, not an us problem.

maureenponderosa · 27/02/2026 22:42

There are only two trans cricketers I think this could be (from a brief google search).
How these men can’t see how selfish and self-centred their demands are will always confound me.
