Good news. Let's hope it means an end to Labour's Islamophobia definition too.

Success: High Court upholds acquittal in Quran-burning case | National Secular Society https://share.google/tYEipPCiZePP3omJK
Stephen Evans, chief executive at the National Secular Society, said:"The High Court has rightly rejected this wrongheaded attempt to introduce a blasphemy law by the back door."However offensive some may have found the Quran-burning protest, it was lawful. Criminal law protects people from harm, not from being offended. This judgment makes clear that it is not the state's job to police religious sensibilities. A hostile – even violent – reaction to speech cannot be allowed to determine whether that speech is criminal."There must now be a serious review of how and why the CPS originally came to charge a man with causing harassment, alarm and distress to the religion of Islam and why it chose to pursue this case to the High Court. Public confidence demands answers."

I'm really relieved at this result, a little chink of light. I'll stop posting now

Good news, the CPS needs to explain why they sort to overturn the first decision, how many bites of the apple do they want. 😠

Very relieved

Good, we don't need or want blasphemy laws in the uk especially ones that only protect Islam.
What is really disturbing is that even after the cps jas lost twice now they still appear to be looking to go further from their comments on the telegraph

It would not be limited to Islam in any way.

It would be a step towards all kinds of things, pronouns included. Gender Ideology is absolutely going to fit the criteria of religious belief.

I've been thinking about this case on and off and I can't understand the CPS determination to prosecute this man over many other actually important cases that need their time and attention. I'm glad that Mr Coskun is getting support to fight back.
