Excellent! How such a trial has even been allowed to happen in the first place is beyond me.

Well quite… but by the same token how did it become hate speech to say men can’t be women? Who knows. Oh hang on. Patriarchy.

MsGreying · 20/02/2026 20:39

It needs to be completely shut down.

peacefulpeach · 20/02/2026 20:41

‘The safety and wellbeing of children and young people have always been the driving consideration in every decision we have made regarding this trial and always will be.‘

LIARS

littlbrowndog · 20/02/2026 20:41

The whole thing should be shut down immediately
imagine experimenting on children just because.

HoppityBun · 20/02/2026 20:42

IwantToRetire · 20/02/2026 20:19

Does this mean they have actually recognised that there are "concerns – directly related to the wellbeing of children and young people"

Very good question

MrsOvertonsWindow · 20/02/2026 20:42

How have we allowed adults over keen on having children kept in a pre pubescent stage, even once they've reached adulthood, have such power in society?

littlbrowndog · 20/02/2026 20:44

And the children were promised £500 in vouchers for taking part. FFS

deadpan · 20/02/2026 20:45

This is from the Gov website
It is part of the usual process that clinical trials are kept continuously under review and for us to have active scientific dialogue with the trial sponsors.

The safety and wellbeing of the participants to be recruited into the PATHWAYS clinical trial is paramount, particularly in view of the age of the children and young people who may be involved. For this reason, the MHRA is applying the highest scrutiny and taking a cautious and measured approach. We have raised some concerns related to the wellbeing of participants and scientific dialogue will now follow with the trial sponsor. We rely on the best scientific evidence to ensure all trials are as safe as possible for those participating.

AccidentallyOnTrend · 20/02/2026 20:45

Thank goodness.

Supporterofwomensrights · 20/02/2026 20:45

Thanks for sharing @CrocsNotDocs. A step in the right direction. Operation Sunlight is paying dividends.

littlbrowndog · 20/02/2026 20:46

The planned trial, which is funded by the NHS, has faced a significant backlash since it was confirmed in November.
Children taking part in the trial were promised up to £500 in Love2Shop vouchers for completing psychometric tests which they could redeem at shops including Currys, Uber Eats and Xbox.

Signalbox · 20/02/2026 20:46

How on earth is this a new concern? Why wasn’t it considered by the ethics committee?

singthing · 20/02/2026 20:47

Three cheers for whoever stood up for the kids at the MHRA.
The Telegraph article has excellent explanation of what the drugs do (and how they are NOT just handed out like smarties for prec puberty etc), I shall bookmark it for any debates I find elsewhere online.

CrocsNotDocs · 20/02/2026 20:48

Was the government afraid of the embarrassment of losing the Judicial Review? I can’t see how the trial can ever be reinstated. It’s a dead duck.

I would be very concerned about any 8 year old child that could fully understand what it means to permanently lose the ability to orgasm.
As for the parents - disgraceful

Not to make light of it at all, but I was reading somewhere earlier about (men's) orgasms being described as like a sneeze. Imagine a child going "yeah ok, never sneezing again, I can live with that!" ..... and then an actual adult not seeing anything wrong with that.

littlbrowndog · 20/02/2026 20:52

8 years old. Ffs

they don’t even know what they want for their tea.

unbelievable that our government thought this was acceptable

Signalbox · 20/02/2026 20:54

How do you even go about preserving the fertility of an 8 year old?

One of the most appalling things about gender ideology is that it pretends its young child victims as wiser, smarter and more self-aware than bog-standard children.

PersonIrresponsible · 20/02/2026 20:55

Bet the kids are gutted they've lost the promised £500 pocket money.

EasternStandard · 20/02/2026 20:58

I hope it’s cancelled altogether.

Shame on the gov and Streeting for pushing ahead to start with.

Massive well done to Sex Matters and those pushing against it and getting somewhere.

WarriorN · 20/02/2026 21:02

Well done Esses and Bell! 👏

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 20/02/2026 21:05

Great news, but as others have said it should never have got this far. Well done Esses and Bell.

littlbrowndog · 20/02/2026 21:07

Total shame on our government for wanting to use drugs on our children which are harmful and detrimental to their future health and promising £500 to these children

so disgraceful
