Government reverses ban on wrong-sex pronouns in primary schools

News from Transgender Trend:
https://www.transgendertrend.com/socially-transitioning-child-primary-school/

The government has published new draft schools guidance on ‘gender questioning children.’ The new draft guidance takes away an important protection from the previous government’s draft guidance, which banned the use of wrong sex pronouns in primary schools. The new guidance says socially transitioning a child in primary school is allowed, although it emphasises caution, says it should be discussed with parents and doctors and should happen only very rarely. This makes it sound ‘reasonable’ and ‘middle ground.’

I guess they needed to do that because they are allowing primary age children to take part in the PB trial 😱

The whole thing stinks - the gov knows it’s incredibly unpopular among the general public, that’s why it’s all very low profile

JustSomeWaferThinHam · 20/02/2026 10:35

Oh good grief. They really want to get at those kids!

Involving ‘doctors’ isn’t going to make it any less harmful for the child or their peers. No protection for kids from transhausen parents at all.

Shortshriftandlethal · 20/02/2026 10:37

The assumption is that schools are fully on board and raring to go with pronouns; whereas many schools and certainly many teachers are not on board at all.

But i guess given the upcoming trial into the effects of puberty blockers they have to acknowledge that there are going to be some children in schools who the government are effectively transing themselves, and they will need teachers to be prepared to go along with it.

LeftieRightsHoarder · 20/02/2026 10:50

The tide may be turning in other areas, but this worthless government keeps forging ahead in dogged stupidity. You don't need to be a psychiatrist or a child-protection expert to see that children should not be encouraged, by adults' collusion in their fantasies, to think they're 'in the wrong body'.

The puberty blockers trial is a crime, in my opinion. We already know the harm they cause, and there's no way a child can give informed consent to be harmed -- though children are heartbreakingly easy to persuade and mislead.

It is hugely problematic that pronouns have been left out of this guidance

it’s not good enough to say in an interview that no one should be compelled to use pronouns

I suspect that the compelling is separate to the allowing children to use chosen pronouns. I can foresee horrific situations with pick and choose scenarios playing out on the chalk face.

The issue with the guidelines is that it’s based on Cass.

Cass was problematic in many ways. Mainly that it suggested that some children should transition. It fudged up nonsense about dsd’s too.

SecretSquirrelLoo · 20/02/2026 12:02

What is very rare? One per class? One per school? One per city?

Hilary Cass seems convinced that some children really do need to have their bodies altered to look like they are the opposite sex. So the puberty blockers trial goes ahead. And all children remain at risk of being transitioned at school, since no one can identify which these ‘rare’ children are.

EasternStandard · 20/02/2026 12:20

So bad.

spot on.

Cass was hugely problematic. Kcsie is evidence based and that’s the evidence it’s using. However, the evidence of harm exists for Cass to refer to. The pb trial is an abomination and in fact perpetuates the myth that children are born in the wrong body

An excellent article from TT. It's a significant loophole and allows the activist adults embedded in schools, support services like Education Psychology etc to continue to target vulnerable individual children with their dangerous gaslighting nonsense.

Presumably with so many labour MPs being signed up to transitioning their own children / young relatives they are incapable of exercising any critical thinking about this.

WarriorN · 20/02/2026 13:03

Yes - also the points that Amanda Speilman made around children being coached in what to say to avoid parents knowing. Both loopholes can be exploited by trans activist teachers too.

ArabellaScott · 20/02/2026 16:20

They're backsliding.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 20/02/2026 16:28

Isn't there also the "parents must be involved except if they're a threat to children" but without the boundary that these children MUST be referred as a safeguarding issue.
Alienating children from parents is a transactivist's wet dream and they will exploit that loophole. Only the courts can remove parental rights (see children in care of the state for evidence)
It's enraging that the predator class have been able to keep this loophole in the guidance. It needs tightening up.
You want to transition someone else's child without involving parents? Then use the safeguarding / legal route.

So pleased! Looks likePB trial stopping which will potentially impact the guidelines!

Yes - a quick read of the comments under the Times and Telegraph sho hundreds of men and women horrified about the whole thing and all explicit that children shouldn't be caught up in all this.

Somehow we need to get the public aware of the school to clinic pipeline along with the influence of adult transactivists in influencing education policy in both primary and secondary schools.
