Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Thanks @nythbran2 I'll read it later.
I do hope that surrogacy and buying eggs becomes illegal asap and we can do away with the exploitation of women and stop the snp government and NHS from targeting young women for their eggs

Really good article, thank you for linking

the fertility industry’ is horrifying

Thanks for the link, a disturbing read, and by that I mean vomit inducing. We're being treated like herd animals, a resource to be exploited. 🤯

this is another very disturbing surrogacy story

Thanks for posting - I read it earlier and thought it was excellent too (excellent in the sense of profoundly disturbing and horrific). The contrast between scared women from Ukraine and Africa and the Westerners with cash to splash who rent out these women's wombs is vile. And the fact one couple changed their minds at the last minute and had their baby adopted goodness knows where (the way people might change their minds about a new kitchen)... just horrifying. It needs banning, the world over, and I'm so pleased The Times has published this.

Meanwhile on the bbc… I’m afraid I couldn’t bear to listen to this after the 50 yo man belatedly yearning to be a father started talking about using a surrogate like it was the obvious solution … idk if the ethics were discussed at all but it didn’t sound like his narrative about his ‘need’ would be challenged. Did anyone listen to it?

Yes I did. It was "man wanted to be father. Man found lady to have baby for him. Man gets baby. Science is GRATE!"

They're repeating The Body Politic from Sonia Sodha that she made last year as well which actually does look at the issues
