"I am tweeting for the first time since 2022 because today’s judgment was a personal vindication. I’m absolutely delighted, and grateful to the wonderful team who helped us to get this right.

"The Court held that the Interim Update contained an “accurate statement of the law without misstatement or material omission” and complied within the EHRC’s statutory duties, and that the legislation on which it was based, properly interpreted, was compatible with human rights.

(Perhaps unsuprisingly some have replied to her tweet saying she is wrong, the Court found against her!)

She looks relieved. I’m sure this has weighed heavily on her and I am nothing other than grateful for her and her leadership. Thank fuck for her common sense.

By contrast GLP writes to Phillipson to say she is wrong!

We've written to Bridget Phillipson to point out she's legally obliged to reject the EHRC's draft guidance

The Government committed in its manifesto to “remove indignities for trans people”. We're asking that they take steps to protect the trans community, and correct what the Supreme Court got wrong.

All covered in the main thread. GLP are lying.

The very detailed, in depth discussion of what the judgment says and what it means as well as all press and social media reactions is available here https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womensrights/5489699-glp-v-ehrc-judgement-is-coming-tomorrow?utmcampaign=thread&utmmedium=appshare

All covered in the main thread. GLP are lying.

There are many ways to receive and understand information.

Sometimes it is relevant to just simply state events that have happened.

ie there is no "main" thread!

There are threads where those who want to, and have the time, go into detail speculate about the detail means.

And as also happens there are threads where it helps to just get an over view. Because not everyone has time for detail, or if the detail that contributed is how institutions, courts, understand it.

If they did, then by now given the many threads on FWR since the Supreme Court ruling, single sex (biological) would by now have been mandated and started to be put in place.

Sadly what is said and read on FWR seems to have little or no impact on other people let alone institutions and decision makers!

FWR allows us to discuss and share in a common space.

Mainly for ourselves in the face of knowing even if no one else is actually listening to us, then there are some, or maybe many others, who have a shared outlook.

But I suppose we could start titling threads Briefing for Minister for Women, Briefing for Minister for Sport, Briefing for Health Secretary. Maybe they would listen to us!

Who knows?

You got your arse handed to you on the other thread because you didn’t understand the ruling. Stop spreading misinformation. There is no need for a duplicate thread.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/02/2026 03:28

Also, that’s funny given how many times you’ve jumped on people who’ve started a thread when you have one open about something.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/02/2026 03:55

If there was to be an overview thread, which I don’t disagree with in principle, someone who actually understands single sex spaces, the Equality Act and has read the ruling should set it up.

She’s been fully vindicated, as she says. GLP and others continuing to spread misinformation though.

Sometimes it is relevant to just simply state events that have happened.

A whole new thread for a single tweet on a topic which already has a thread seems a little unnecessary. Why not just share this low-effort contribution of yours on the already-existing thread?

(We know why, of course - it's because you've embarrassed yourself on the other thread by posting misinformation and even-lower-effort AI slop)

Ignoring the fact that this seems to be the 6 year old's thread.

Baroness Falkner deserves to tweet about the judgement, the never ending lawfare mounted against her must have taken it's toll on her. I'm glad she's been vindicated, now all we need is for the lip spittle GLP io STFU and the midwit Phillipson to do her job and Put It Before Parliament, it's been 10 months already.

I seem to have stumbled into some kind of disagreement 😕
I just want to say that there has always been a lot of respect for Baroness Falkner on this thread, unlike elsewhere, and it's good to see that she feels vindicated.

I suppose that means I'm glad a thread was started about her so I could express my opinion, but I don't want to be part of a disagreement, I want to spread luuurve amongst us rights-hoarding dinosaurs today💖😁

This.
Good on Baroness Falkner, I’m glad she’s feeling ok about it.
I need a 6yr old’s thread to be honest, I can’t keep up with the detail and sustained attention span ones- I have to dip in and out.
I have no desire to fall out with anyone, and appreciate those who put the work in year in and year out, and the people like me who pop up to be cheerleaders!

Absolutely. While she was undergoing treatment for cancer, and being harassed by TRAs, the Labour government were briefing against her (nastily insinuating she was incompetent) for trying to get the EHRC guidance to conform with the actual law and to get the amended guidance published.

I highly admire her, she’s a very intelligent and determined woman.

Mollyollydolly · 14/02/2026 17:40

I'm glad she feels vindicated and relieved.
And don't forget Baroness Falkner was diagnosed with advanced stage 3 ovarian cancer in August 2024, following a seven-month delay in diagnosis. She's an amazing woman and more power to her. May she be around speaking truth for many more years.

What a top woman! And she had to fight against TRAs in her own organisation, only to find the Labour govt briefing against her, another in the endless list of their shoddy stunts. Spoke up about the rape gangs, too.
