I know full well this thread will be deleted as a TAAT.

But why do PBPs return to FWR?
Why not use that energy doing something positive for the trans cause?

Can we have that translated please?? Only know TAAT!

Because sometimes they get to stay for a day or two and will derail or get away with abusive tactics while they are here.

Could also be any narc supply is ok even temporarily? There had been posters who seem to thrive on the negative feedback loop their posts create. Sometimes they post and people react then the poster claims to be a victim on the thread.

Sometimes it is for glory points on other platforms. We have seen this often enough.

That thread got absolutely pulled apart and exposed as nonsense. In fact, it was extremely illuminating, just not in the way the poster intended. Do they think they're going to tell the silly wimmin a thing or two? The misplaced confidence is truly a sight to behold.

Ideally no-one would respond to goady OPs and they'd just drop down the board, lonely and unreplied to, to be forever forgotten.

I think that's impossible though

I don't mind the ones who start their own threads as much - you can either bite or ignore them but it's self contained. It's the incessant derailing of threads that gets me down but, as @potpourree says, if no-one responded, they'd soon give up.

It's difficult to have a blanket ignoring - there have been times when I've restrained myself from responding, and then further down the page somebody else responds, and I think 'Nooooo! we were doing so well at ignoring him!'.

Then again, there have been times when I Was That Poster and replied to a goady post when I should have ignored it.

There is an argument that 'FWR' is being read by new people all the time, and the answers which are the 'duh' obvious ones to old-timers may be new and revealing to others, so it's worth going back over the arguments for newcomers to the board.

And sometimes I confess that it's almost fun to take goady posts apart, they are often so flimsy and devoid of fact.

Sometimes, rarely, I have an inkling that the poster is not a goady plopper, but a woman who is genuinely struggling to understand the GC position, and I respond on the basis that I'd rather be wrong and be unintentionally nice to a goady plopper, than be combative and dismissive and alienate a woman who is just starting to think these issues through.

Yes, some people (usually men) like arguing for the sake of arguing.

I've been as guilty as anyone and I used to believe it was worth engaging. But I've come round to thinking that any attention just eggs them on even further.

In fact I can just picture someone, somewhere on the Internet being delighted at having created all this fuss so I think I'm out.

I was wondering specifically about PBPs though, not derailers as such. Why return to a platform that you've been banned from once and presumably think is "full of hate"?

They slate MN as irrelevant, old-fashioned and unimportant - but if it really were those things, they wouldn't bother making repeated efforts to be on it.

It's quite sad really. I get that for some it's a thrill trying to wind up / smear / criticise women but behind it is an emptiness? A disordered soul seeking "pleasure" in life by spending time taunting others. Someone who got pleasure as a child from bullying others and who never learnt the skills of mutually respectful peer relationships / friendships?

None of it's good, however you see them.

The thread that OP referenced was clearly goady though. I was the person who initially said to let it stand so that the posters claims could be challenged but it was clear soon that the PBP was just trolling. I don't think they believed their own bullshit.

I have lurked on other messageboards, and they claim to believe that occupying MNers in debate online stops us doing anything else with our time.

I think they persist in this belief because they don't spend much time with adult women.

It's a bit like the fact that they want to be women, but also hate us.

We remind them that they can never be what they want to be. Whereas we, just, are...

Plenty of them think that trans identified males are better at being women than actual women are... 🙄

I was going to post on the thread mentioned, because certain comments were made about a person and her yacht and how the logs had gone missing for it. Well, the yacht in question, was purchased in 2015 and sold in 2016, so it is very possible that no logs existed.

And yes I do try to not feed the trolls, but as mentioned, sometimes I'm not sure till after the deed is done.

Perhaps they believe they can change our minds? If they mansplain these things enough maybe we will finally realise that they are right?
