The county council were also influenced by the Monaghan advice, which was a legal opinion commissioned by Brighton parents.

seems like pressure can work after all.

Ignored letters may not always signify inaction.

Excellent news!

Have you accidentally identified yourself? When I click on the link it gives the name of the person who is sharing it.

I wonder if lessons have been learned? NO!

I hope not! I’m neither Bev nor the Adrian mentioned though thanks for being hot on it!

Goes to show, it's not just in Brighton, but in decidedly non-trendy places like my old home town! 😁

Excellent news although tardy. Karon Monaghan leads the field on equality law, it can only by virtue of a severe deficit in reading comprehension that Brighton has not yet dumped its own "toolkit".

Thanks for the link, it was an interesting read, and it shows that actions can work. Well done to Bev and her persistence, hopefully you'll find something you can use in her fight to help you in your fight. 😁

Another bit of good news.
What will really have an impact is the sight of a headteacher having to explain in a court of law why they're so keen on mixed sex changing rooms for teenagers. And having to justify why they coerce children in their school to comply with this.

This is fantastic news , the house of cards is falling

Ereshkigalangcleg · 06/02/2026 06:52

Fantastic work.

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 06/02/2026 10:52

this is something other parents can now lean on when they complain about their own councils toolkits needing to be removed, hope it has a big effect (won't Brighton tho...)

Edited

Are you aware that Safe Schools Alliance also got several local authorities to withdraw similar Allsorts based guidance by threatening them with legal action a few years back?
