Feminism: Sex and gender discussions
Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/02/2026 07:46

The Scottish government said: “In relation to single sex spaces, health boards must ensure that all their facilities comply with relevant legislation, including the Equality Act 2010. We have written to health board chief executives to reiterate the importance of ensuring law is followed following the Supreme Court judgment.”

then why are they in court at the moment defending their claimed right to flout it in their prisons policy? Bizarre.

Karen Titchener sounds great though, she’s spot on.

I would think because they're hoping that if they can wangle a court to say that no blanket rule in prisons, and that specially vulnerable, sad men mean that women can be used as therapy animals, they can immediately get back to self ID again. Hence the lots of mention of poor men driven to suicide (by not being provided with women to use.) And there's the precedent and there's the end of single sex meaning single sex, and yippee, women are props again! The SCJ is defeated.

It's the wedge, they're hoping to force a closing door back open. Women's equality and rights are so inconvenient for these men.

Possibly because they see female prisoners as collateral damage. Statistically they come from lower socio-economic backgrounds too, unlike patients, who might complain.

A good article with the usual exasperated comments from readers who can't believe that this is happening.
