Women’s Rights Network imploding

WTF is going on? There are letters circulating with members alleging bullying, and anyone who asks a question is suspended and comments deleted. The leader calling everyone to urgent meetings with bizarre messaging: ‘there is no letter, and if there is it’s full of lies, and you can’t see the letter just trust us, and ooh look, something shiny!’ Should I cut my losses, cancel my standing order and just follow Let Women Speak?

  • the lack of transparency about how donations are being used and who is being paid how much for doing what and in what capacity,

No rules broken afaics. I don't make donations and there are no membership fees.

  • members in WRN Scotland being required to pay donations to WRN into a Director's personal bank account rather than donating to the WRN Ltd. Business Account,

Why did they do it then? Take legal action if you think there has been fraud.

  • the covert creation of WRN Ltd. by Heather Binning ....
I could not care less. Ancient history

I'll be back to repost this every so often:

All we have in these 35 pages is a few documents where what some women say happened is contradicted by what WRN say happened. The rest of us cannot verify any of it either way.

No rules broken as far as you can see? Do you know what the rules are? You don’t see a lot do you (unless of course you’re one of them)?

There is proof that WRN members paid money into a director’s personal account. Why didn’t the director ask for the money to go into the WRN account?

Just because you might not have paid money into a director’s account doesn’t mean other women didn’t. Just because YOU don’t think this is wrong doesn’t mean it’s not wrong. Why can’t you see this?

Why would they “take legal action”? You’re talking absolute rubbish now 🙄

What have you been able to see in order to determine whether or not any rules have been broken?

No one on this thread asking for transparency has been able to see any information at all about disbursement of income and who is being paid how much for doing what and in what capacity.

Take legal action if you think there has been fraud.

That's something for women in Scotland who paid into the Director's personal bank account and have receipts to have a think about.

If it is true that WRN Ltd. is thinking of applying for charitable status, as has been suggested in this thread, then another avenue would be for them to raise concerns about financial governance with the Charities Commission.

I could not care less. Ancient history

Your prerogative to not care less about belonging to an organisation where there has clearly been deliberate misrepresentation and a massive breach of trust by the leadership. Presumably you think that because that is all in the past that it could not possibly predict the likelihood of problems arising in future or impact on the reputation of WRN?

Absolutely spot on, OP – that comment nails it perfectly.
WRN’s desperate, shameless grab for ultimate victimhood by exploiting Sandie Peggie as a human shield is utterly contemptible. Comparing their own nonsense to what she suffered at NHS Fife isn’t ‘absurd’ — it’s grotesque, egotistical and deeply insulting. Women see straight through the cynical stunt and are laughing in disbelief. Credibility? Trust? Goodwill? All obliterated. WRN Scotland is now a cautionary tale in how to destroy your own reputation in one pathetic move.
This is exactly the sort of self-sabotaging behaviour we've seen time and again from them. Sandie Peggie went through real harassment and suspension for standing up for single-sex spaces – a genuine fight with huge personal cost. And now WRN tries to piggyback on her case to play the victim over their own internal dramas, suspensions, and bullying of members who dare ask questions? It's beyond tone-deaf; it's exploitative and insulting to every woman who's actually faced consequences for defending women's rights.
They've torched whatever goodwill they had left. No wonder so many are walking away to groups that actually focus on the issues without the ego trips and deletions. If this is their idea of leadership, it's no surprise the whole thing is imploding.
Well said – women really do see straight through it. Keep calling it out. 💚

Comparing the leader of WRN not having the guts to attend a public meeting where some of the 62 women she purged might be present, with Sandie Peggie’s witch hunt by NHS Fife, might be one of the most outrageous and stupid things I’ve ever seen.

What we have on this thread is a small cohort of petty and vindictive women, trying desperately to damage WRN. All the same names trying to stir up hatred.
Within that cohort, while in WRN. some of you breached privacy and shared information to a much wider group that included people not part of WRN. This breached the trust and confidentiality that is part of any feminist network, not just WRN, and WRN were left with no option but to remove all those on the group for security.
I understand the bemusement and hurt of those entirely innocent of these actions getting caught in the crossfire. Which was sadly the majority. Could it have been handled better? Possibly. But it’s happened. And those of you shouting loudly against WRN on here know exactly what you did (not all of you, at least one I know is too dense to figure it out but just enjoys being malicious). The forced exodus lies at your door, nobody else’s.
The continued sharing of screenshots from private groups to a public forum to cause trouble shows your measure.
Your actions are utterly shameful in attempting, however unsuccessfully, to throw shade on women that are achieving results like this.

This thread makes me despair.
Women don’t know how to handle conflict.

It is not playing the passive aggressive, butter would not melt, denial, obfuscation, avoidance, petty attacks, pull the victim card.

It is not losing one’s rag either or mud slinging or sniding, or shabby reasoning to please your biases.

Please, in the name of all women, have all a fucking think with yourselves about leadership, strength, influence … and the image you project.

Because you are all much better, smarter and stronger than this lowlife bunfight of a thread I m reading. That I am sure of.

I don’t disagree, but for clarification I’m NOT WRN leadership, in case this was directed at me. I just believe in supporting their actions and putting the facts out.
And a little bit of baiting, I confess… 😜

I think members being chucked out with no explanation isn't 'hatred' now is it?

I appreciate that you reply but don’t play coy or demure or show me your belly as a sign of appeasement, please. By doing so, you debase and undermine YOUR power.

You effing know what you posted. Own it like a based person. No filters, no excuses, no spin.

And if you can’t do that, well, you probably shouldn’t have posted or you should have worded it more carefully.

If anyone sounds petty, it’s you. Asking legitimate questions about governance, is not “stirring up hatred”. Posting a message is not a breach of confidentiality meriting throwing dozens of women out of a support network they helped to build. You defending this behaviour only damages WRN.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience.
However, this isn’t the reality for many, as the letter from North & South Buckinghamshire WRN underscores. For instance, women who established a non-WRN sports group were forced to choose loyalty to WRN or face expulsion. In Scottish groups, members were instructed to prioritize WRN above all, including reporting back on any WRN-related discussions in external groups—effectively mandating surveillance that fosters division and mistrust.
These inconsistencies reveal deeper governance flaws: removals without due process, bias without safeguards, and punitive escalations over informal resolutions.

This is one of the important posts in this discussion. The WRN leadership now seems to have sent in a couple of people to try to derail the conversation. That’s exactly what they do if anyone mentions anything that isn’t “allowed” to be discussed in their WhatsApp/Signal groups.

Is that all you got Himinist? What about the bullying, throwing out directors and coordinators, throwing out loads of other women because they dare ask a question about a letter they’ve seen circulating? You’re not doing a very good job of defending WRN. If you’re not part of WRN or involved in any of those above things it might be best if you step aside and let those in the know answer because nothing you’ve said so far is constructive or helps the reputation of WRN.

It’s now very clear that @Heminist is NOT in good faith. She must be aware that the so-called breaches that were alleged in Bucks mounted to one woman telling her group that she was being bullied by the leadership. This led to 80 women being culled in a mass punishment. No screenshots, no public forum, just asking other women within the local network, for support.

My understanding from this thread is that the same applied in Scotland - one woman sharing information about campaigns, in a private group. For which 62 were kicked out.

“Breach of confidentiality” is what the leadership trumpet, because it sounds really bad, doesn’t it? In fact it’s women saying stuff that their betters have not authorised them to say. Refusing, in fact, to wheesht. And here is @Heminist employing the exact same tactic here, as a self-declared WRN defender.

SuperFragilisticWoman · 06/03/2026 10:26

From what I’ve seen, Heminist jumps in to shut down any criticism, accusing people of “vitriol” or being “petty” while ignoring the real issues like deleted posts, forced regional splits and lack of transparency. It’s like, if you question anything, you’re suddenly the enemy – even comparing critics to TRAs or implying threats where there are none. And that passive-aggressive tone? Eye-roll emojis and snarky exits like “happy festering”? Come on, that’s not constructive; it’s just adding fuel to the fire and distracting from the core problems.
As a fellow WRN member, I’m appalled by Heminist’s behaviour. We should be able to discuss these failings without personal attacks. If you’re so invested in defending WRN, maybe focus on fixing the issues instead of attacking other women in the space – or perhaps go back to making those lovely banners. You’re just damaging what’s left of WRN’s reputation.

Perhaps you should have a look at the beginning of this thread and enlighten yourself about Bucks , and the volume of work those women have been doing. WRN Scotland’s work is rather insubstantial compared to just one regional group.
