Women’s Rights Network imploding

WTF is going on? There are letters circulating with members alleging bullying, and anyone who asks a question is suspended and comments deleted. The leader calling everyone to urgent meetings with bizarre messaging: ‘there is no letter, and if there is it’s full of lies, and you can’t see the letter just trust us, and ooh look, something shiny!’ Should I cut my losses, cancel my standing order and just follow Let Women Speak?

There are some mentions of the "media" which would cover "interviews", eg. in a couple of my posts including this one where I am quoting another PP. Also citing Cathy Larkman as an excellent interviewee.

Has anyone else seen this message that’s just gone out from WRN to all members?
You will be aware that M was on the Alloa programme presenting an update on the WRNS sexual assaults in hospitals report. Mary has today been informed by the organisers that her presence has been cancelled. This appears to be a result of allegations from women who have engaged in a year-long campaign of accusations and harassment of some WRNS Coordinators. No opportunity was given to present a rebuttal of the accusations, actions sadly reminiscent of what happened to Sandie Peggie. No WRNS members will be presenting at Alloa and Coordinators will not be attending. Members will make their own decisions about attending and we wish everyone who does attend an enjoyable day.”
Yet Alloa organisers have denied that they have cancelled any of their speakers.
So… what on earth is actually going on here? Why no chance to rebut anything?
And how is this the similar as Sandie Peggie?

NameChangedWren · 01/03/2026 20:54

I don’t understand what’s happened. Were the WRN speakers cancelled by the festival or not?

Seriestwo · 01/03/2026 21:05

I don’t see how this could be compared to an employment law fuckup that exposed a failed NHS trust and government oversight.

WildernessWoman · 01/03/2026 21:10

WRNS face saving exercise!
This situation would never have arisen for them if they had not treated their Scottish Members so terribly.

RhannionKPSS · 01/03/2026 22:08

DARVO in action there from WRN. The sheer arrogance of comparing this to Sandie Peggie is mind blowing.

TipsyKhakiJoker · 01/03/2026 22:09

Reminiscent of Sandie Peggie. That would be hilarious, if it wasn’t so offensive. Sandie was lied about, and treated with injustice by a man who wanted to force her to validate his fetish. Mary steps down as a speaker at a festival, because there are questions about the way WRN treats its members, especially in Scotland where she has sacked 62 of them, and about how she managed finances. You’re not a martyr love, you’ve just been caught out.

What a load of garbage. The invitation from Alloa Women’s Festival was retracted as the organisers were made aware of the dysfunctional management of an alleged “grassroots organisation” calling itself WRN. Well done the Alloa organisers for snuffing out grifters.

Not according to the organisers!
WRNS withdrew.

"No opportunity was given to present a rebuttal of the accusations" WRN we are keen to hear your side....

If they withdrew why is WRN telling its members the festival organisers cancelled them? It is only fair to the organisers to know what the facts are.

Funny because that’s exactly what the 62 women in Scotland, and the 80 in Bucks said. Looks like karma has come.

ThimbleThief · 01/03/2026 22:40

I hope Alloa Women’s Festival can publish receipts to clear this up.

As I mentioned previously, It’s a face saving exercise, WRNS would have learned that some women were prepared to stand up and walk out when they got up to speak.
I hope Alloa Women’s Festival release some sort of statement into the public domain.

Seriestwo · 01/03/2026 23:03

the upshot is women won’t get an update on the hospital report. That’s disappointing

As PP has said WRN have a website, the hospital report will be seen on there

RhannionKPSS · 02/03/2026 00:11

Just hoping the data collection was correct this time around

Indeed, 62 in Scotland and 80 plus in England are probably feeling quite vindicated about their shabby treatment by WRN. Did the co-ordinators and board members not expect pushback from Scottish women ? We are the ones who won’t wheesht

Ehmbeeh · 02/03/2026 07:22

I am a member of a Women’s group. We don’t have a leader or directors or coordinators. It is a completely flat structure. I don’t agree with anyone on all local, regional, national, international politics/matters so what we have in common and what brings us together is our belief, that gender ideology has infiltrated every aspect of our communities and is dangerous to everyone, in particular women, young people and children. Having access to like minded women relating to this is important because isolation on such an invasive level can bring about depression.
I have a choice in how I function in the group. I can argue my point or self select out and have all the variations between those two options. Women experience control everywhere, they do not need to experience it from each other, it is counter productive as can be seen in many women’s organisations, including WRN.
I will not be returning to WRN because I refute the need for a controlled environment in relation to the stated aim. I believe it is unhealthy to silence and be silenced and doubt the quality in the collective support we give to each other in such an environment. I am an adult and have the capacity when offended, upset etc to cope with it, plenty practice living as a woman in today’s world. For those who need anonymity in a group being ‘vetted’ is not how trust is formed. WRN expect someone to take a leap of faith because some unknown women have appointed 2 women as ’safe’ to vet, to know all the facts and maintain, always, confidentiality and decide who knows what.

Men as a sex class are in control and the way they have organised this world is disastrous, why copy it.
