So much is going on in the world of politics at the moment, both nationally and internationally.

We are, mostly, passive receipients of those reporting daily or even hourly updates.

They may be true, they may not, or just a slanted version.

Maybe others share your response or not ...

This caught my eye today. How close are we to WW111 if the Lib Dems (of all people) are calling for the UK govt to issue war bonds.

Davey says war bonds needed to get defence spending moving 'faster' - BBC News

This reminds me that I recently read about whether conscripton would be brought back in the UK in the current situation. And if so whether that would mean women would join fighting units, rather than in WWII when women might join the land army or something similar.

Have just heard about Trump talking about sending an amarda to do what? invade Iran, snatch the Supreme Leader?

Gun boat diplomacy.

With two headstrong (to put it politely) leaders, this could end with a democratic Iran or Armageddon, more likely something in between. As to why, it could be in support of those extraordinarily brave women and men, thousands of whom have given their lives protesting against the regime (Trump's original reason IIRC), a nuclear deal (the current reason), oil, or a distraction from something happening elsewhere.

In other Trump news, he has chosen to display in the White House, a photo of Putin. As the saying goes, a picture paints a thousand words.

I cant get over the hypocrasy of the reporting on Mandelson, Epstein, and xprince.

The media as much as the political parties (in this case Labour), friends and families.

And in the end the media is turning it into another media fest which will shape how politicians respond.

We know that when they chose the media can totally destroy someone (or if it is a woman ridicule her into obscurity). But I have no doubt this current headline grabbing excitement will not lead to politics being cleaned up, men starting to respect women and girls, the public not being absorbed into celebrity "news".

Just expect to hear in a few years time how other aspects of this were not "revealed" at this time.
