The video of her and fearne is, as you say, a few years old and I think was during a time when some other celebs were using the Witch Trials as a way of saying i might or might not agree with Jkr but leave her alone. Davina and Rev Richard Coles tried and were slagged off.
I don't agree with DF that JKR made mistakes, she says a debate would help and because it wasn't allowed then anything JKR did would have been regarded as a mistake. But if she hadn't done what she did we wouldn't be having debates now.

I have always greatly disliked Dawn French. I used to think my dislike was irrational since everyone else seemed to like her, but maybe not.

I like that she belongs to the school of performers who can take someone off without trying to look like them physically - just a wig and a forensic study of speech patterns and mannerisms is plenty good enough!

How DARE she say the JKR made mistakes, when she has never stepped into the ring for women.
Mind you, the only thing I saw her in that was funny was the Madonna sketch with Jennifer Saunders. I don't find Vicar of Dibley (which everyone i know loves) funny at all

It's interesting when these old videos pop up again.

The thing is, a reasonable person can't listen to the The Witch Trials and not understand JKR's position. It is obvious that gender ideology harms women and girls. Dawn French and Fearne Cotton get it but, because of the industry they work in, they are too scared to come out and say this outright.

This is toe-curlingly embarrassing. She comes across so badly in this. Patronising, smug, and so out of touch.

That is absolutely superb, someone has commented - "That isn't just a take down, it is a Marks and Spencers take down"

I love her Angela Rayner - for me, she gets the speech rhythms, the body language, the intonation and the attitude bang on.

I do think she was a very funny physical comedian but I don't know why she does earnest political discussion given she comes across as ill informed and patronising. You'd have thought she would just be saying 'no thanks' when invited to talk about anything apart from her latest show.
