Lib Dem Women - election being held now

If anyone here is a member, there's an important vote going on. Liberal Democrat Women is the internal group that lobbies for more Women at all levels in the party, and provides them with support.

Captured, of course, to the point where their award for outstanding woman last year went to a male person.

But the election has several candidates standing who clearly want to support actual women, as far as I can tell from their manifestos, including the impressive Zoe Hollowood. Here's hoping she and some of the others get voted in. If you're a member please do vote. (There's also a rumour that the usual TRA suspects rallied lots of support to vote for the incumbent lot... but signed up too late to get a ballot)

Second this message.

Lib Dem Women has been entirely taken over by the trans lobby within the party, and several of their candidates for exec positions are trans identifying men. If anyone is a member and doesn't have a ballot or would like pointing towards manifestos feel free to DM me.

The Lib Dem’s were paid a lot of money by the company that makes puberty blockers- I don’t know if this is still the case.

total Donations: Over a six-year period leading up to 2019, Ferring Pharmaceuticals donated over £1.4 million to the Liberal Democrats.

Yes they were. Makes it even more important that people who don't subscribe to gender ideology are able to gain influence in party organisations.

Yes, please if this applicable to you, vote for the love of Mike vote, these unhinged activists out. 👍

MyPearlViper · 18/01/2026 16:43

To be fair some of the current team aren't activists, they just want a quiet life (or have seen what happens to your life in politics if you dare say "women" (and not the approved "all women")

Is the Liberal Voice for Women (with the amazing Alison Jenner) active in this vote? I'm not a LibDem member (never would be while they think men are women) but the Voice for Women group is doing sterling work.

MyPearlViper · 19/01/2026 08:35

Alison is standing, along with several other Liberal Voice for Women candidates. LVW has been a seriously powerful lobby group.

Brilliant! She is an amazing survivor of regular attempts to get her cancelled & ousted from the party,

Yes they were. Makes it even more important that people who don't subscribe to gender ideology are able to gain influence in party organisations.

Why is it when the likes of Puberty Blocker Makers donate huge sums to groups/parties/etc we need 'gender critical' insiders there to 'gain influence' but if an 'incorrect' person or group donated, say Tommy Robinson as an example, the message would be to leave?

It is never 'stay' to influence the likes of Tommy Robinson is it?

It is quite intriguing. It only ever goes one way.

And the results are in!

Bad: Zoe Hollowood didnt get the chair of Lib Dem Women, and there are still men on the committee

Good: lots of new people who look sensible and will help steer Lib Dem Women back towards where they should be, ie campaigning for issues that affect women and girls, and supporting women in the party

So here's hoping that this is the beginning of a return to sanity for one of the parties in the uk

Great to hear.

A very hard-line Labour friend of mine & I were discussing current politics, and she said to me "Why don't you vote LibDem, given your ideas?" My immediate no need to think about it answer was "I can't vote for a party that doesn't know what a woman is."

Sadly, when one votes, you can't say why you've NOT voted for a party or a candidate.
