It will be interesting to see if Australia's social media ban for under 16s has an affect on 'social contagion' issues and teens. Anorexia, suicide, and extremisim including boys' developing hateful attitudes to women were topics specifically mentioned/ examined in the commission inquiry that led to the ban. Trans as a 'social contagion' issue was not raised, of course, that would be undermining / hateful.

Ironically there’s probably a lot of truth in this. As @LoudBlueSeal says, it’ll be interesting to see what happens in Australia over the next few years

Equally flippant, but I suspect had all the middle-aged mums suddenly embraced their newly-rediscovered boyhood in line with the men doing the opposite, there'd be a LOT less 20 year balding women with awful robot voices and extensive physical problems.

I think limiting social media to adults is a good idea (I'd do the same with smart phones too).

However, I think BlueSky may not be banned - I saw an Australian commenter mention that on TwiX and their explanation for this exception was that BlueSky is considered 'nice' social media.
