I know, it’s utterly disgusting

The Times broke this story yesterday. Comments are furious with lots of people making the connection between this and Labour's grim record on safeguarding children and women's rights:

Wonder whether the peer and the predator involved were also influential in campaigning against women's rights? Hopefully people are doing some digging.

Matthew Doyle: aide given peerage by PM campaigned for paedophile

Spin doctor backed Sean Morton for elected office after he was charged over indecent images of children. No 10 knew — but still approved nomination

What's so depressing is that not only is the UK PM apparently unfazed by this, but judging by news stories throughout the year, just about every party has some male councillor, if not MP, whose back ground is not only suspect, but apparently known.

How does this keep on happening?

Which great political brain every thought bringing Peter Mandelson back into UK politics was a good idea?

Or is it just another indication that men, particularly men in power, have no time for women's rights, and sadly children's rights.
